I met the guitarist Vance. He was at one of my shows in the early day then invited me to his show later in the night. He was a super super cool guy and a fantastic musician. If you're reading this Vance .... I'll give you a shout later on.
In his later years, I wouldn't be surprised if Freddie had thrown a few Hermits hits into his stage repertoire. The vast majority of audiences probably don't even identify any specific song with a specific performer...just a specific era.
It's funny, he said in an interview before about when they were starting out, he thought he looked silly wearing the leather clothes, so he couldn't. Look at those pants!
If this was a tribute to Freddie of Freddie and the dreamers it was a beautiful one. They gave it a nice positive and happy bounce! :o) They were all part of an amazing era which changed the whole direction of music history
The shows that Peter does with his current Hermits are an evening of entertainment that is more than just Herman's Hermits hits. They often include this song, as well as those of other 60s artists including the Monkees, Dave Clark Five, Peter and Gordon, The Rolling Stones, even the Beatles every now and then ... not to mention Johnny Cash.
OMG I love the way he shakes all that beautiful hair at the end of the song ROFL

When you listen to this song today, it has some unintentional ridiculousness in it. As those leather pants do =)

I love Pete-- but damn--the pants--whats up with the toilet paper roll in your pants? A bit of duct tape ay? HA! The secret is out! Good stuff!

He did the Freddy just for a few seconds. It would be difficult to do and sing at the same time.

How come Peter's not doing "The Freddie"?

Freddie died on May 19, 2006. Could this perhaps have been a little bit of a tribute?

Maybe they did it as a tribute to Freddie Garrity?
Seeing that he passed away in May/2006.

Yes, Freddie and the Dreamers had the hit in the 60s, but Peter Noone (Herman) and his current Hermits sure do a great cover of the song today!
