the reason you would want to catch the same pokemon over is to catch one with optimum stats. people who battle competitively against other trainers would understand the usefulness of the repeat ball.

@lonerlass3123 I can say a trainer with a Golem, that hiker with the 4 SUPER SAYIAN Geodude has 1 Golem at the end if you battle him a couple of times. So try it if you want to confirm it :P
