  • After I stop eating sweets I noticed I had less inflammation. I only drink water & tea sweeten with honey. If I want something sweet, I'll eat a piece of fruit. I feel so much better.

  • I only eat foods low on the Glycemic Index and I've lost 40 pounds in 5 months. I do work out a LOT; walking 10k steps/day and lifting weights 5x/week. Funny thing, though--I did about the same workout, maybe just walking 6k-8k steps per day, and was still gaining weight with no end in sight! When your insulin spikes, you go into fat storage mode and can't get into fat burning mode. Check out info on the insulin trap. Best wishes!

  • I hope he's not saying to avoid fruit. I eat 10-15 bananas a day. Nothing wrong with loading up on the carbs. Diabetes can be prevented by eating a whole foods plant based diet.

  • @shannondangc You've seen "forks not knives" havent you? lol

  • @ataraxic89 Lol yeah. No offense, but I'm kind of tired of seeing overweight people telling other people what to eat and not eat. =/

  • @shannondangc okay...? I asked you a simple question. I assume you looked at my channel and saw that Im fat then? Well I will continue to tell people what to eat (even though I didnt tell you that) because Ive lost 90lbs and am well on my way to losing the other 80 or so to get to my goal of about 190ish. Besides, I mostly agree with the Whole foods plant based diet.

  • @ataraxic89 Oh sorry I didn't mean it like that >< I meant the dude in the video that said stay away from sugar. Sorry!!

  • @shannondangc lol I misunderstood too. no problem. And I agree with you, sugar isnt bad for you. It just CAN be.

  • @shannondangc ....what you are engaging is called an "ad hominum" attack, a "tu quo que" fallacy.

Like not taking no-smoking advice from a dying nicotine-addict. Argue a position, don't drag in a personality, your reasoning is defective and irrelevant.

  • @FeldwebelWolfenstool I am aware of the tu quoque debate fallacy. I just feel that if he is talking about what is good for us and what is bad then he should at least look like a good representation of it. Our bodies run on glucose in which I attain from mainly carbohydrates (high sugar and calorie fruit). What's wrong with that?

  • @FeldwebelWolfenstool The title of this video is just a bit too broad when talking about sugar though. It could mean to say that all fruit is just as bad as processed/refined sugars which isn't. :/

  • @shannondangc What do you think makes sugar in fruit better? Youtube search for sugar: the bitter truth, maybe that will change your opinion

  • @wycka001 Of course it's better. Fruit has carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. People are always saying that fruit makes you fat and all that sugar is going to give me diabetes. I've been eating primarily a fruit diet, along with some leafy vegetables and nuts, for a very long time, and I can tell you that I'm pretty far from being diabetic or becoming obese.

  • @shannondangc And what is your point? Look, your arguments are not valid. 1. I don't say that fruits or any food makes you fat or gives diabetes, but I assign my self to PEOPLE. It is all about quantity. If you are eating fruits one or two won't make you fat. Even 10-20 bananas won't make you fat, unless you will eat more than you can burn during day.

And I was asking what makes the SUGAR in fruit better, not fruit versus sugar... So you haven't yet answered my question.

  • @wycka001 Sorry for not answering your question. Fruit sugar isn't refined and is a good carbohydrate so it burns off slowly. I eat 3500 calories a day from fruit and I for sure don't exercise enough to burn it off, but I'm not fat as well. The carbs burn off when I'm standing out in the cold and when I'm sleeping.

  • please Interview dr.Ray Peat one day and u will learn tottaly different approach.. For the time being please watch the video about Sugar the other white powder by joshrubineast here on utube.. and all the best!!

  • Screw it, let's just rip out our tongues.

  • This guy gets on my nerve:

No you do not need supplemt to avoid diabetes!

Unfortnatly the body needs sugar?? Why unfrtunatly

The most funny one: insulin converts glucose into glucose at about 1:58 (I let you judge the sentence)

If you want to loose weight you have to burn more caories that you ingest. But yes I agree generally whole food is best.

  • avoid high fructose cornsyrup

  • @innHD Table sugar is 50% fructose and 50% glucose. HFCS makeup is slightly different but is almost identical. In general avoid any refined sugar

  • no more Captain Toast Crunch? T_T

  • Sugar is a form of carbohydrate. All carbohydrates, when processed by the body, convert to glucose (aka sugar). The problem is that refined sugar is a simple carbohydrate that the body cannot break down properly. Most processed/refined foods have too many simple carbs and too few of the complex carbs the body processes more slowly. As a result, blood sugar spikes, and over time, this overloads the pancreas and the liver and causes diabetes.

  • fructose is the bad sugar.read sweet poison by david gillespie.

  • @hobo1975 no no and no, not poison! This not a good adjectives for it. Actually fructose is present in very high quantity in fruits (I know still much better because it comes with vitamins, fibers etc... ) and certain honney such as acacia honney which make it particularly seet and explain why when pure it does not critalise. Now that said, yes, fructose can be bad as it needs the liver to work to be metabolised.

  • @joimko2 i didnt say it was poison, i said read the book sweet poison.

  • I once ate just vegetables and water. It was hard, but my stomach went flat inside 2 months. Just sayin.

  • Will white rice cause a person to crave processed sugar? Is brown rice harder to cook than white rice?

  • Bullshit Sugar is good for ya

  • @PwnKing95 Well, taken in excess no, and better taken in the form of fruits as it then comes with plenty of good stuff

  • this guy makes nottalotta sense

  • @rast123456789 I am glad I am not alone to think that way

  • who cares if sugar is a way to diabetes, we all can eat what we want and live a nice life, oh wait, if we keep up with the sugar it will combine with our urine and it will blow up our family jewels XD

  • sugar doesnt cause diabetes, being fat does, but you can get fat from overeating anything not just sugar

  • @Bananayoghurt1000 Eating fat will not make you fat.

  • @whgage sure, unless you eat too much

  • @Bananayoghurt1000 Fat quickly satiates hunger. It is not possible to eat to much fat unless you force yourself. Eating fat does not make a person fat. It never did it never will.

  • @whgage yes but thats what fat people do - they force themselves, it's called overeating, also you don't even have to eat it, lot's of people gain weight using GOMAD - gallon of milk a day (bodybuilders, not relevant really but fat people drink milk too)

  • I dont give a fuck what I throw down my gullet im american! the only people who care are you people. Your alone in a majority and that wont change.

  • dude i thought this would be sum funney video of a old guy telling me why sugar is bad (gintama draged me to find this)

  • Cool Video, thanks...

  • LOOK BUDDY>> DONT GIVE WHITE RICE TO THE PIGEONS!! OH MY GOSH!!

DONT YOU KNOW they eat rice when they drink water they BLOW UP!! ITS TRUE, look it up.. UGH.. poor pigeons they dont deserve that..

  • I like this guy. He talks funny. I like rabbits too. Happy fun bunny hop. Happy hoppy hop hop...do you like bunnies and nutritionists?

  • ha! this video starts out with an ad for 'Kellogs Frosted Mini wheats!' If more people understood the difference between glucose/sucrose/fructose(me as well)they would care alot more about what goes into their body. This guy is also misled in that it is not about the CALORIES in sugar...but how it is processed/stored in the body. 'Calories' are NOT what makes you fat. If you ate the right kind of foods(glucose)you/we would not overeat or even UNDER eat but still get fat, due to WHAT is eaten.

  • he only talks about the calories not why the sugar is bad

  • Refined sugar is extremely bad for you and it's extremely addictive. It gives you an insulin spike which results in a fleeting boost of energy and mood, but when it leaves your system it causes a come down, which is why you crave your next fix - much like nicotine and heroin.

Diets that allow "cheat meals" and indiscriminate calorie allowances will fail every time as they fail to acknowledge the addictive nature of sugar and simple carbs.

  • I was over 12 stone in weight and I completly stopped eating any kind of sugar, eaten 1/2 of food, and exercised more. I lost 1 1/2 stone in 6 weeks.

  • "sugar is bad for you" "your body needs sugar to function" What are we supposed to do??? lol jk I understand this the wording wasn't the greatest though

  • I think the person who mentioned something about eating sugar in moderation makes better sense to me. I would also say that it would be better to eat brown sugar if you are going to eat sugar.

  • im soo lucky, i can drink 2 liter of coca cola, eat candy each day for a year, but if a exurcise i wont go up in weight, but .. i dont do it, its not healthy.. and it gives you sleep problems... trust me

  • @NaJk93 lol. Weight isn't everything.. Your pancreas, stomach, and overall digestive/psychological functions are affected from high sugar intake.

  • @Tliken hey, some ppl got super stomach ya kno!

and yah i know that, but as i is, its more addictive then tobac ;P

true story, my m8 tried stop smokin , he succeded many times but started again,

he tried stop drinkin soda, he couldnt , in resturaunts its allways served, you have friends that drink it infront of you. its just RLY RLY RLY hard to stop.

  • so stay away from anything white except Xylitol ;)

  • Milks bad for you to

  • @duracelluser123 makes SPELLING difficult for some people TOO

  • just carbs? what a jerk! if it wasnt for suger refined or not we wouldnt have the gumtion to do shit!!! like upload stupid ass misleading videos like this! suger is like anything else in the world...moderation. the enemy is not suger...it is us!

  • just carbs? what a jerk! if it wasnt for suger refined or not we wouldnt have the gumtion to do shit!!! like upload stupid ass misleading videos like this!

  • he looks like he's about to die

  • The only thing Cow milk is for is baby cows.If your not a cow you don't need cow milk.

  • Because DIABEETUS.

  • get in good with god never mind sugar ya and everything in moderation is best advice as there's nothing wrong with a piece of chocolate now and then start to worry about your soul never mind the material body thats just here for a short while.

  • That guy just does Valium instead of sugar lol

  • Table sugar is 15 calories per serving. Eat in moderation. This guy's an idiot. I wouldn't take advice from him on anything. We burn sugar and run on fat. These are fuels our bodies need to survive.

  • wonderful presentation except milk is almost at bad...

  • @hihosilverlining2 Is milk bad? i didnt understand what he meant. Is milk with lactose bad or should I drink it?

  • @jrlcgmx - Hi. Hope I didn't scare you lol. But honestly, much research has been done that shows that Milk is the biggest cause of allergies and is full of things humans should not or CAN digest.

We are told we HAVE to have milk. I have never really liked milk and as an adult NEVER drank it. But I get my calcium from many vegetarian alternatives...Tofu, Kale, Broccoli, Okra, Almonds, Soy milk, Bok choy, soy yogurt, Tahini...and much more. Check it out.

  • i dont get it.... is naturally occuring sugar bad? like organic local honey or organic dark maple syrup? what about the sugar in fruit?

  • eat fruit, avoid all the rest...simple. since giving up fat and eating all fruit and greens, i lost 10 lbs and my stomach is getting flat again. so sugar in fruit is our friend and forget about supplements

  • @brutus64

You are absolutely dead on. Research RAW Food. All you need to know is available for free on the internet. I am down 18lbs and counting and will NEVER go back to the SAD (Standard American Diet). Many health issues have cleared up or are improving daily.

  • @brutus64 Unfortunately, giving up fat isn't the answer either. The paleo diet, which includes lots of natural fats (including saturated fats), nuts, fruits, and vegetables is the only diet that has given me an even, constant flow of energy, along with allowing me to lose weight faster than anything else I've ever tried, and this includes those lovely low fat diets (which are generally MUCH too high in carbohydrates).

  • It took away my model looks

  • Companies that market refined sugar to children are more dangerous than drug cartels and terrorists. "Little Debbie is a Rapist" because Little Debbie wants to rape children of health

  • doesn't rice kill pigeons?

  • Salt is bad, hp is bad, sugar is bad, much water is bad... fuck it. Too much of anything is unhealthy, even vitamines and stuff.

Yayaya let's put out glucose, fructose etc.

  • How can you tell that she is looking at him directly. The camera is not giving you all that information.

  • yea

  • He is wrong about white rice. Billions of asians eat it everyday and they are very healthy.

  • It gives them energy, but it doesn't give them other things. They do not just eat rice, if they did they would be dead.

  • Have you mercury metal amalgam fillings removed asap.

  • Don't eat Meat, Dairy, Refined sugar/carbohydrates. Also, stay away from whey, casein, lactose, and albumin. Eat a one hundred percent plant based vegan diet and you will live a long healthy life.

  • White rice is garbage, it's as bad as bleached enriched white flour. You need to eat brown long grain rice. Stay away from refined foods.

  • @Joewillsetitright you know what is bad any kind of sweet drink like coke, moutain dew, cocacola....they are more terrible than any kind of thing like white rice and other food.....

  • @Joewillsetitright I agree that rice is terrible but my dietary therapist thinks short gain brown rice is better as it absorbs toxics. I also believe no one diet is best for everyone.

  • @Joewillsetitright Eat a cup or two of veggies along with white rice and it is not significantly different in any way than brown rice. Several of the populations with the longest life expectancy (I.E. the Okinawans) eat diets that contain copious amounts of white rice. White /= bad for you

  • @Joewillsetitright Hey, maybe you should eat shit, it's brown too, and unrefined

  • @MathDoobler Well, if you know anything about the GI tract, you'll know that shit is very processed. I wouldn't recommend eating it. Unless of course you have a taste for it, as you seem to have a taste for spewing it.

  • @kozychik Regretfully, my mouth is a one-way receptacle.

  • @kozychik Lmao idk what your talking about but ok NERD

  • @Joewillsetitright Again a too strong statment, white rice is not garbage. Actually if I exclude the fiber aspect, parboiled rice which forces vitamine into the grain is still very nutrient rich. Besides in some cases, the absence of fibers is increasing the bioavailability. e.g. I am not sure about this, but I recall a serious study advocating that white pasta although not as rich in vitaminewere not that bad because what remains is better absorbed that in the brown ones.

  • what does this guy have against white rice? The Japanese eats rice almost in their every meal and they live the longest.

  • They eat raw fish and get a lot of omega 3 that way. That's the point of that.

  • Omega 3 isn't an antidote for any harmful substance. It is just a healthy fat that helps brain development.

  • More than that, ytfetc, one of the acids in it is a mild chelative, and does help to remove metals from the brain. It also keeps the immune system healthy by fixing vit d3.

  • Complex Sugars and Carbohydrates, Meat, and Dairy kills.

  • GO Diabetes

  • y is evry1 hatin on diabetes

  • Damn you guys are fucktards. You're argument is basically "he's old so he must be wrong". Keep being mindless imbeciles. But please die soon.

  • This guy looks like hes on death's door

  • Yea. theres something about getting health information from someone thats looks ready to be buried that I do not like.

  • he's probably in better health than 98% of people his age. Judging by the way he speaks (lack of excess pausing) his mind is still functioning very well.

  • We don't know how old he is. but if he's 100+..you would be correct

  • there are many different forms of sugar. It doesn't matter which one you consume. Excess sugar causes obesity along with other diseases that have been associated with excess sugar intake. \

The ironic part about this is that excess sugar is stored as fat, and when you lack sugar, fat (animal, plant or stored glucose as fat) converts back into glucose as needed. Technically, you don't need to consume sugar at all. Sugar has no nutritional value, but fatty acids do!

  • but milk is good for you..

    and what about fruit??

natural sugar in beans cant be bad???

  • how about fruit i have cancer?

  • a man beat cancer from eating the seeds in apples and apricots

    the video is on youtube

not sure what its called but Im sure its on here

  • the body has a difficult time recognizing refined and processed sugar

when I say refined and processed, I mean sugar that's not naturally there - added

most foodshave sugar, fruit, milk, just about everything has at least a little sugar in it naturally

the good thing about fruit is that it doesnt spike your blood sugar levels as opposed to say a candy bar or something the sugar in the fruit is digested slowly and it gives you a more steady fow of energy

  • Refined sugar is poison...Just blow your brains out you'll save time

  • refined sugar is the worst!! It is stripped of all of its nutritional value, so when it's in your body, it can actually deplete your nutritional stores (incomplete molecules seek to replenish themselves and so they take it from our bodies) We can actually even create a deficiency from it if our diet is really poor.

  • I'm guessing sugar alone wouldn't be enough, but along with commercial table salts (which often have lead in them to prevent clumping, a really bad toxin!), white flour and most flours and water, which are usually all stripped of their nutrients (and sometimes enriched with crappy general man-made chemical nutrients that the body might not even recognize) can just make the nutritional store depletion in our bodies so much worse.

  • I hear you...

  • @freein2339

I wouldn't go as far as to call it poison. Just eat sugar in moderation, and I'm pretty sure you'll be fine.

  • @orangefan9 That's like saying cocanie or herion is fine in "moderation"...White sugar is poison why deal with it..??

  • @freein2339 Plain nonsense. Well sorry, let me dilute my statment. Refined sugar and unrefined as well by the way (it contains very little trace elements and so is not that much better than refined sugar) are not really good for you but to call them poison and say that it blows your brain is nonsense. A tea spoon in your coffee will not arm you at all even if taken daily. Assuming you do not drink your cane of cola and eat a cake on top!

  • @joimko2 Sugar is poison and white is the worst...Just blow your brains out ...It's quicker...You must be overweight...

  • This video is informative. However, this video and others all say "we all have a sweet tooth." I don't at all. I can't stand anything sweet.

  • He is right. Sugar is not edible. I believe it was created for plants. There is nothing about sugar that is good for man what-so-ever.
