Oh my gosh, fault on the rider/handler. First off, when a horse begins to spook don't kick and pull on the reins. Just relax and ask the horse to circle, and if that doesn't happen, dismount. Second, once you're on the ground. Whether you fell, don't rush and try to sheath the sword either. I'd never do that.
@TheDoropsDragonfly These particular horses are rigorously trained to take commands, remain calm and do what they are told by the rider. Of course a horse doesn't want a bit and bridle, no less a rider on pavement. In this case the rider could not bring the beast to bear, but redeemed himself when insisting on remounting to join his mates immediately. The horses' wishes play no part in this - but as we see the beast has limits; as we all do. You discount the 'herd' aspect of the horse's mind.
@SmileyGarrish Okay, I'm trying to understand what you mean though it doesn't make that much sense. But would I could understand does. Do you mind explaining again a bit more simpler? Thanks, though for taking the time to respond. Appreciate it!
@TheDoropsDragonfly This not just 'a horse' - from what I can see the Guards Mount became troublesome, balked at a legitimate command, rejected the same command again, and then threw the insistent rider intentionally, going down with him (the rider is lucky to be up and walking): My point was that perhaps something spooked the horse, or it had a bad day or new unknown rider - but the instinct of the horse would presumably lead it to 'want to' join its mates on the Parade, and so follow the herd.
@Pearly403 Instincts. We all have a "flight or fight" instinct, and since horses are prey animals, and as humans we're predator, they tend to spook at things we don't find scary much easier than we do. But yeah, it is quite remarkable how quickly he got back up. Especially on that kind of turf, and with being shod too. Goes to show that that horse didn't want to be there. If u have any questions about horses feel free to ask.
@wiganerrmc Ok so explain to me how writting like a moron is going to help you in any way at all? besides that's a faggot excuse, it's not like you where writting in slang and making words shorter, you where even making some words longer by spelling them as badly as you did...

and only thing im not good at is english because im dyslexic but im good at maths and all over things especially football and fighting
and UAE is poor ye there is some rich countrys in UAE like dubai abu dhabi but then there are alot of poor aswell were the rich are rich and the poor and very poor
@wiganerrmc LOL "especially fighting" Grats on proving how immature and pathetic you are. Really sad they would rank a child like yourself a rank, seems like a very stupid thing to do :)
it's amazing how the other horse get startled at one horse falling over, imagine back when they were fighting, they'd charge at lines of men firing cannons and musket balls at them, and they still ran in, those horse had fucking balls. since it's in their genes to take flight when in danger, i wonder how they get them to behave to brave
I've seen that before, rearing up and over like that is not a discipline problem, it is probably caused by a toothache, so when the rider pulled on the bit the horse just tries to pull back in pain, the rider pulls more on the bit etc until the horse comes back. I've seen it a few times
something spooked the horse obviously, at least at first glance it appears both rider and horse seemed ok. At least it's not the like the incident in the trooping the colors which turned out pretty bad.
Hows about this you all shut the fuck up because my brother is a horse guard and if something like that happens they are not aloud to get back on the horse because it might have an injury or the rider may go into a state of shock so they have to wait for and order to get back on the horse or they will go back to the barracks so both the rider and horse can be checked over
@Jonny30284 thats absolute bullshit. Its the riders job to look after the welfare of his horse. he wouldn't get back on he would seek medical aid for his horse to make sure it was ok. don't say things that you obviously have no knowledge of.
Both the rider and horse were very lucky to walk away from theat whole ordeal. For all of you that have never come off a horse when it was rearing it's a very intimidating and scary expirence. I've come off that way in a sand arena and I sprained my wrist ( I too was VERY lucky) and this person was on sement! Yikes! It didn't look like the horse was spooking at anything, he was just refusing, and it didn't help that the rider was kicking the crap out of him.
@Jonny30284 so if they horse had brokn his leg it is the riders dutytto get back on ... how disgusting - no respect for horses. if my horse injured himself i wouldnt get back on
@melissalisa123 The Queen loves horses. She knows the names and breeding of all of these horses. She loves horses. She used to ride in the trooping of the colours but after the risk of being shot at she was told not to. I have never owned a horse, but I love them and know alot about them and have ridden before. Even I can tell that the horse was not lame or injured. It was able to stand back up and move easily and quickly. He maybe hurt his ass a little when he fell on it but that's it.
@melissalisa123 From what I can see in the brief clip the horse appears to get back up and be moving soundly indicating to me that he probably was not hurt. The fall was like the result of the rider pulling back on the reins after the horse went up and pulling him off balance and over. From what I could see and given my experience as a rider for close to 20 years I see nothing wrong with him getting back on is he felt he could do so and keep himself and others safe.
@gingermonkeykid I would call it rearing up, and it appeared that he was pulling the reins to try to get the horse to settle down. In turn, the horse was trying to escape the bit pressure and reared up and lost its balance. Just an opinion, everyone has got one...
yeah after service all the horses are rehomed. I to to a riding stables which is on an army barracks and they are very well cared for. Some hae really wired names tho like Gladys and Borris. They're lovely if slightly big and spirited. :)
What do you take them for? Not everyone wants to kill animals for very little reason, worst case scenario they retired it and sold it on, but never kill it.
The Queen loves horses. English love horses. They would never kill a horse. it would be re trained. Or if the horse cant go back to it's duty. It would be sold. Not killed, the Queen would never allow that.
@punkstoper really are they that sacred that go into service into the royal guard. I say make it into glue. I'm glad that lad didn't fall on his sword
I commend him for getting back on. Thats a hard fall. If you don't get back on a horse immediately, once you have been "unseated", then the behavior becomes a habit and therefore a dangerous horse to even get on. It also becomes extremely hard to break the habit.
