I loved the book as well! For my English Lit class, we are doing a director's project where we pick a director and do a bio on them. My original choice was John Hughes because I love his work, but somebody chose him already (to my surprise) so I chose Francis Ford Coppola instead. I chose The Godfather and The Outsiders. This is my first time watching this. :)

I read this book for school when I was 12. I am turning 24 this year, so that's half my life knowing this book. I liked it so much I still read it sometimes, and it still has the same chilling effect on me. I also read That Was Then, This Is Now, but I like The Outsiders just a tad bit more.

This story has more meaning than just that the characters are sexy or what ever you think it's about. S.E Hinton wanted to show people that violence gets us nowhere and that staying young and open is a good way to be. This is a wonderful classic and I think you all should just read the book instead of watching the movie online because you don't want to do the homework.
