Yes, I agree. Here in Malaysia we're starting to cultivate it I've heard. But the problem is, theres little research done about it and theres almost limited information on it's perennial life cycle. Hopefully in the future we would be able to use this plant to replace our fuel, instead of extracting the oils which harm the environment.

What is happening in Nigeria is another reason that we all should use less oil and use more alternative fuel sources and the UN and all the countries of the world should unite to demand that the oil companies should be held responsible for cleaning up all of the oil spills and for offering compensation to those affected by the oil spills and the oil drilling. The communities should be improved with a share with revenue from the oil.

the trick is to ensure that great technology doesn't get suppressed. I know of a guy here in the US...has battery technology that will CHANGE THE WORLD. Problem is....everybody is after him. He's gotten defensive...maybe a little greedy. I sincerely hope he sorts this shit out.

There's a lot of money to be made in green tech. If they're not making the money, it's not good green tech. So far, technology without thought is slowly killing the world. Thinking leads me to walk, bike, and not use plastic. Oh, and not breed. Earth's troubles are exactly equal to human population + tech. It's just about changing the structure. Making some improvements to the house if you will. Improve performance, create or use less resources, and even in some cases share the wealth.

Technology has advanced quite a bit to fulfill our worldly requirements. But the structure is only concerned with what makes the most money. So it hasn't really utilized any of that technology.

Nigeria needs to say to the oil company's, clean this shit up or get out. while the throw a few pennies at the leaders of the country, they make massive profits and the people die. Between AIDS, malaria and cancer from the petrol, there will be no one in Nigeria. The government has to know that some of that shit is or will leech into all of the water of the country.
