I love Dr. Horrible. For people who are complaining about not paying the actors and so on, I'd just like to point out that anyone who's awesome enough to watch Dr. Horrible probably owns the DVD. And will buy any special editions that come out. And has been to see it in some public theater. We just like to have it accessible too :)

when i wrote this the last i heard joss whedon had taken the episodes off hulu because he hadn't been able to pay any of the actors for the work they had done so was planning to make money back by selling cds and dvds

the original plan was to allow them to be seen for the first 5 days after episode 1 was put online

Oh heavens, Fillon as Hammer was COMPLETELY unexpected. Not only were they troping as if Horrible's superhero nemesis were going to be an unseen character, but then he actually shows up and it's Nathan freakin' Fillon?!

I particularly like his first entrance. The music changed tone immediately. The whole scene was set up to show an "oh no!" moment, except the sudden disaster was the unexpected arrival of a superhero.

And I am holding out for the DVD.

I totally stumbled onto this by accident and I've loved it ever since. I wasn't aware that Neil Patrick Harris could sing, especially Nathan Fillion! This is Joss Whedon at his best. The buffy musical episode was good and this shows exactly that.

Neil Patrick Harris was actually in Rent at one point, I believe, and a couple of other musicals. I remember he performed on some show years ago as part of one. Also, I love that his character definitely replaces the server in the background in the shelter. Just saw that!

Much thanks for posting this! Personally, I purchased the series on iTunes, which essentially helps with the production costs, I'm sure - hopefully the word of mouth, and continued access to how good this series is, will inspire more folks to buy it.

If you watch this show, and if you do like it, please, purchase it! As a random, low-budget work, and a proof of concept, making this a commercial success will inspire more and more folks to do the same variety of thing!
