I am just barely getting into spearfishing and was hoping to get some advice for a "newbie" I am on the Big Island Hilo side. Any advice on guns, good fish for eating, locations (what to look for in a spot/areas) any advice would be great! thanks alot!

Nice video, but maybe gun mounted camera would be better. I got a good mount from Mako spearguns. YouTube....oahusquid....check out the HUGE tiger shark my son and I ran into spearfishing Kona a few weeks ago.

lol...no braddah it doesnt make you bullet proof...like i said gloves give your hands protection...fish have alot of spines...coral is sharp and lobsters are hell on your hands if you have no gloves...hope this helps you out...dont go without gloves.

@pyroneph lol...i lost the tip of my pinkie to a kala down to the first joint...the first fish he speared..also the coral is very sharp...also if it is lobster season it is allways good to have gloves on...also its gives a better grip when loading your spear.
