well that is ignorance at best... those are spanish guitars but the guys who beautifully performs the song are mexicans... burton was a music student who loved spanish music, the scale used in this song it is called the "Spanish Phrygian"... well I am pretty sure burton would have loved this one

@BR177 never heard it being called spanish phrygian becuase the phrygian minor scale is used in spanish music, there is no alteration? in the hungarian minor scale, there is a raised 4th and 7th(alterations) hence having its own name. but spanish phrygian? if you really wanna call it that...... anyways the main point is he used e minor, not phrygian, just normal minor scale (a blend between natural and harmonic minor scales)

I said spanish because when the arabs "conquered" the mediterranean they blended their musicals styles... some people call it a jew scale others an arabic scale... to me when the spanish guitar is involved you cannot deny its mediterranean roots...look it up maybe they call it "modern phrygian mode in e minor" or "phrygian dominant aka gipsy scale" .. look for the wiki on the topic "phrygian mode" it is well explained ...
