IIRC (30+ years ago), when I saw them in the round, they used the same music before the show started. One of their all-time greatest tunes and a great way to start the show!
Bad camera work (Wakeman's and Steve's solos????).I saw this originally in Minneapolis, MN in '72(...hmmm'73? 4? sorry, a few brain cells short here) for the Yessongs recording. This was not quite the same but I introduced my nephew to Yes at this very show. He's STILL hooked. A new Yes fan. Gotta love it.
These guys were great at one time. Other than the keys and bass, this is pretty off. Steve Howe can't even play these accents correctly, not to mention he drops tempo like a sumbitch. This performance is fairly pathetic and these guys should just hang it up.
@Jamfan100 I really have noticed steve dropping the tempo a lot and it pisses me off, it sounds crappy slower at the beginning. They cant perform like in the 70's and 80's anymore.
I saw this same show in West Palm Beach, FL - I was totally pumped when they started with Siberian Khatru - I couldn't wait for the next song - then, they played a 15 minute version of America - what a buzzkill - it was too long and sucked - and why play other band's songs? Anyway, I got over it as they treated us to songs like Revealing Science, South Side, Awaken, etc. There was crazy lightening during South Side. One last thing - Yes are three times better indoors than outdoors.
Sorry Harvey, Yes playing a 20 minute version of Simon & Garfunkel's America sucks really bad and it did suck that night. Yes has no reason to play that anyway, they've got 20 hours of their own material. It was really terrible and a buzzkill.
Jon looks like he's going to go jogging after this. Really, I wish he could've picked something a little nicer to wear, though it has no influence on the music. Wonder what the Nike hand-guard thing is for, too.
This is Yes at 40% of what they were at their peak - which is STILL ten times better than 99% of what's out there, today

Their performance alive is the best, indeed!

Probably they are gay.

Steve starts it too slow. It seems like they always play it too slow live, although here it's just Steve in the beginning.
Disregarding that complaint, awesome performance! This is one of my top 5 favorite Yes songs of all-time.
Other than that, I leave you with these two words:
Jon Anderson

fantastic footage!
great playing!
it seems odd that,
of all the In The Round tours,
the Full Circle tour wasn't one of them.
a minor detail.
the other clip from this show,
of The Revealing Science Of God,
is really special,
too.
