It's not reincarnation, it's resurrection! Mark:"And they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets." Luke:"They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again." Matthew:"And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets."
Not a single one of them used the word reincarnation, Luke said "risen again" which means resurrected!
Thank you for your interesting comment. But isn't he then rising as another person? If you are another person, you are - by logical conclusion - also reincarnated in another body, as a resurrection 'in the flesh' seems highly unlikely. And even then, why is he another person then? Maybe "risen again" is just a metaphor for being re-born / re-incarnated. By reincarnation parts of the same soul get indeed somehow "resurrected" in a new body on the physical plane.
@TheDJConrad No, Where in the world do you get such a crazy idea? The Lazarus that died is the same Lazarus that was raised from the dead. He is still Lazarus, and he still has the same body. & given back the same soul, he remembers everyone he knew before he died. Jesus when HE rose from the dead was the same Jesus that died. HE told Thomas to touch the nail marks, and HE had the same soul as before HE died. In the book of Enoch it tells of the place where souls go to await the resurrection.
@RudeAwakning There is such a place. However we are afforded 'chances' at coming back to earth and fixing mistakes. Like silver tried by the fire to be purified, so do we go through the same process. After all, Jesus (Yehsua) said that we must be perfect like him. How do you suppose we could do that with only one lifetime of experience? What if our life is cut short? What if our life is cut short due to a lesson being taught? It better explains why God seemed quick to kill in the old testament.
