At it's core, it's a great song -- but the sound-engineering/production of the album ruined almost every song for me. I preferred the demos.
Too much "scratch" in this song! :the jagged guitar, the mike distortion on Guy's already ragged voice, choppy drumbeat, nails-on-a-chalkboard sound of fingers sliding up and down a guitar neck. It all rubs me wrong. I can only get through this song at low volume without wincing.
I'm sure it was intentional -- but "high concept" isn't always better .
