Well if you consider anything that is armor piercing usually shoots a jet of flame of 3;000 degrees plus can and will probally wreck something. I know the abrams has a special armor but conidering that a warhead from a RPG burns around 3200 degrees throwing out copper plasma at an incredible speed, yeah, nothing is impervious to explosions. A 105mm IED in ground would definately grabbed their attention. But I am glad to see that everyone is OK.

Sorry, but Russia is like the only country that continues to develop and upgrade their tanks. The M1 Abrams has Depleted uranium in their amour, where the T-90 has active amour with SPU under the main amour. The T - 90 is lighter and more mobile than the M1 Abrams, also the T - 90 has this laser that guides rockets/ missiles away from the tank and an upgraded navigation system. THUMBS UP

@TheChrisbarry44 to be fair, AT mines are designed to take out the belly or the tracks. The device did just that. What good is the engine if the tank can't move? the powerplant still being functional is irrelevent if it can't put power and motion to the ground. Unless the coast is clear and the crew can get out to short track it and limp home, that things going no where fast. Its essentially a pillbox until the ammo runs out or gets towed home.

I remember it being big on the news at the time, but can't find the footage now. On the second point I believe that body armour has moved on to where a shot from a browning 9mm to the chest is non-fatal. I may be wrong, but now that we are finally moving away from 'soft' skinned snatch landrovers, I don't know how much effect your M2 browning has on a Foxhound.

@JammyD2579 The fix is called "short tracking", they remove some of the track blocks, and bypass the damaged roadwheel arm, and use only the remaining serviceable roadwheels. The vehicle can then be driven onto a trailer, pulled behind an M-88 retriever, or driven on its own to a maintenance area. No biggee really.

@spartan1080 not really, the Russians upgraded their T-90, there is some documentary that shows its strength. Sorry, but Russia is like the only country that continues to develop and upgrade their tanks. The M1 Abrams has Depleted uranium in their amour, where the T-90 has active amour with SPU under the main amour. The T - 90 is lighter and more mobile than the M1 Abrams, also the T - 90 has this laser that guides rockets/ missiles away from the tank and an upgraded navigation system. THUMBS UP
