God directly blessed *MANY* men and women in the old testament with great wealth. but they also has the correct attitude about that wealth. this is all that Jesus was getting at. Consider everything you have as Gods for His use and then follow through that way and you have no problem. Jesus does indeed bless people with great wealth. having wealth or not is not the issue its your Hearts Attitude towards God that matters. Pray for the blessings of God and use them for others. Its that simple.

Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were all rich and loved God. King David was extremely rich and is called a man after the heart of God. Gaius was a rich man who loved God and was a blessing to many people. God is richer than you can imagine and is perfectly holy, very generous and so humble that He became a man and suffered in our place. Don't equate being rich with being selfish. It just ain't right. The condition of your heart is what makes the difference.

@Professicchio One of the big problems with the bible is that it can be used to prove opposing points to any theological argument. You point out verses that show the difficulty of the rich going to heaven, and @fred points out verses that show it is God who supplies. No wonder Bart Ehrman, bible scholar, came to the conclusion that the bible is only the word of man, not the word of God.

I believe there are several "preachers" on TV that will end up in Hell. They preach a tainted and corrupted gospel. Preachers like Mike Murdock, Joel Olsteen and others that only preach about wealth and fail to preach Jesus crucified. People die because Adam and Eve ate of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Remember God said the day they ate of it they would surely die. Yes it does say NOW. you read it again. in Matthew 5 Jesus sees the multitudes and gave His sermon on the mount. He is talking to those people about how they should live there life NOW. It astonshes me that you don't understand that. He was not talking about FUTURE.

the diciples were not the saints that the catholic church makes them out to be. they did not do everything right, they were not all knowing, and occasionally they made mistakes.

what do i make out of the faithful poor christians around the globe. well, i feel saddened by them. i'm compelled to help them. but not in the way you are. that is, by being poor myself. i will help them by preaching to them the TRUTH of God. that God wants them BLESSED beyond measure, that they are His children and He loves them.

God directly blessed *MANY* men and women in the old testament with great wealth. but they also has the correct attitude about that wealth. this is all that Jesus was getting at. Consider everything you have as Gods for His use and then follow through that way and you have no problem. Jesus does indeed bless people with great wealth. having wealth or not is not the issue its your Hearts Attitude towards God that matters. Pray for the blessings of God and use them for others. Its that simple.

I know of wealthy christians who are wise with their money and use it for God's kingdom in helping others. Poverty is NOT a virtue. It is the Lord who gives us "the power to get wealth" (Prov.) and the love to share that wealth with others.

I gave a homeless women a perm. I cooked for 10 hungry children at my son's daycare. I reached into my pocket and gave a homeless man change. I donated toys to a daycare. I cleaned out my closet and gave clothes to girl who needed them. I'm blessed with a sound mind, good marriage, family, career, and good health.....

Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were all rich and loved God. King David was extremely rich and is called a man after the heart of God. Gaius was a rich man who loved God and was a blessing to many people. God is richer than you can imagine and is perfectly holy, very generous and so humble that He became a man and suffered in our place. Don't equate being rich with being selfish. It just ain't right. The condition of your heart is what makes the difference.

@Professicchio One of the big problems with the bible is that it can be used to prove opposing points to any theological argument. You point out verses that show the difficulty of the rich going to heaven, and @fred points out verses that show it is God who supplies. No wonder Bart Ehrman, bible scholar, came to the conclusion that the bible is only the word of man, not the word of God.

The Bible is like the quintessential archetype of a soap opera: there is anything in it and also its exact opposite, anyone can take his own personal interpretation and believe that to be the strict, only truth, therefore it's a major bestseller.
If God really wrote it, I'm afraid artistically he is closer to Dan Brown than Dante Alighieri, that might also explain why we are so messed up as humans.

Deflection is taking something good and deflecting its purpose. For instance, loyalty and obedience can be good virtuous things if given to the correct authority. But deflected to the false sadistic authority, they are disastrous. Rather than publicly opposing Christianity, they rename their own movements Christian, and then proceed to do very little for Christ, and everything for Lucifer. Yes, i was raised Baptist and they poisoned my heart, too. always screaming week in and week out. I watch Fred Phelps to help relive my childhood. It's awesome.

People die because Adam and Eve ate of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Remember God said the day they ate of it they would surely die. Death is not a punishment but a consequence to an action. Jesus has not yet come back. Satan is still free. After His (Jesus) second coming and the rapture of the Church has taken place & in that moment in the twinkeling of an eye where we are all changed, then we will not die, but not sooner.

Yes it does say NOW. you read it again. in Matthew 5 Jesus sees the multitudes and gave His sermon on the mount. He is talking to those people about how they should live there life NOW. It astonshes me that you don't understand that. He was not talking about FUTURE.

okay but see, i was quoting the Lord's prayer. not revelation. and in the Lord's prayer it does not say anyhing about the world to come, it is talking specifically about "now." His will be done here on earth, "NOW" why would we need to pray for that to come in the future. when Jesus comes back and with Him brings the kingdom of God there will be no need for that prayer. don't try and make scripture read like you want it to, Just read it "as is."

what do i make out of the faithful poor christians around the globe. well, i feel saddened by them. i'm compelled to help them. but not in the way you are. that is, by being poor myself. i will help them by preaching to them the TRUTH of God. that God wants them BLESSED beyond measure, that they are His children and He loves them.
