I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I combined both the background melody with the singer's melody together. This is my own interpretation of this song.

I don't know how I did it, it's something called improvisation.

In the intro, first four measures, she skipped singer's line (top). Beginning in measure five, note that the bottom two lines forms a chord pattern ie: measure 5: play the D and C half notes 5th finger and the rest of D chord.  I forget the name...some kind of ballade chord? Listen for the left hand and you'll hear the repeating pattern. It varies sometimes though. All that's left is the voice/melody in the treble cleft. Hope this helps.
