  • omg is it just me or did dream theater invented that thing "eargasm"? *^*

  • @galiaizigali They are indeed one of the many pioneers of the eargasm.

  • Dream Theater's guys are awesome!

The music is awesome, and Labrie's lyrics kills!

  • and not even close to half a million views.... we live in a GaGa world, sadly....

  • @ptwkate This is true. Our numbers are weak. It's those damn advertising companies. All they want to sell is gay, weakass crap. I think it's a conspiracy to sap this country's men of their testosterone. High body fat contributes to more estrogen in the bloodstream, too. Fatty foods, wimpy music, little competition... Face it dude, women rule america. It's fucking sad. The meek have indeed inherited the earth. This is why Italian chicks are awesome. They're friggin headbusters, not ball busters.

  • Apparently, 15 people don't have ears.

  • This is awesome song. And awesome album.

  • 2:38 kicks-ass!

  • Dream Theater is one of my favorite bands, no, my favorite of all time, but that being said I don't care for 90% of their songs. Most of the songs on their albums, while good, I just don't like. There are a few songs every album that really just grab me (Ytse Jam, Pull me Under, Awake, Peruvian Skies, Misunderstood, Nightmare to Remember, Never Enough, etc.), but this album is just perfect. I can't imagine living without DT, I'm only 16 and I'm glad my father made me listen to this as I grew up.

  • @Scutshakes oh man i totally here ya, I'm the same way, they've got their really great songs but a lot of them are meh... On, the other hand this whole album is pure gold! I was introduced to it when I was your age (10 years ago). It really introduced me and lead me down an introspective and lavish path of progressive rock and later to psychedelic rock.

    Rock on dude! :)

  • The ending with the keyboard reminds me of Through Her Eyes..

  • Damn! Now I have to go look for Octavius2250's comment!

Also Dream Theater is the tits.

  • @MyxHarnett

Im gonna start saying that. It's just too awesome to not adopt. Thanks man, you're the tits.

  • @MyxHarnett I think they deleted it. (Ctrl+F ftw!)

  • One of my favourite songs ever. I just read the lyrics recently to check what they were about and I felt so identificated with them right now. It give me goosebumps.

  • @Octavius2250 Well if your the person who interrupts you will be in hells kitchen then its obviously going to be a woman.

  • I like it soo much!! it is so erotic...

  • @Octavius2250 i once accidentally clicked on a gay porn video with sum black dudes swinging their giant *** .. that was pretty much the gayest thing ive ever seen - until i read this ><

  • @Octavius2250

    Pretty legit

  • Listening to A Dramatic Turn Of Events = strange deja vu

  • @MlKEPORNTOY I have to give you kudos for being able to troll practically every single Dream Theater video I come across these days.

  • @MlKEPORNTOY ZBOOB ! :)

  • This album is their masterpiece, IMAO...

  • Comment removed

  • The 1st chorus is so cool with Portnoy's backup singing and LaBrie's softer voice.

  • Just realized how DT uses the rythm change to symbolize going back in time (part of the story of the album).

  • i hate when the top comment is a tag.

  • these guys are the bomb, I saw them live what a great show

  • @silvertrumpet1000 me too, in sonisphere madrid this year!! ;)

  • @Octavius2250 You are a dick penis.

  • Hey i have a strange deja vu like im hearing this song over and over...

    hey wait a second.

  • the start in whatever way reminded me of Kiss' "Love Gun", I don't know, it might be me. Both are fantastic bands, I like DT better though, more unique.

  • @Octavius2250 non sence comment, we meet again...

  • 1:55 .... Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Octavius2250 incredibly gay

  • Rudess should play more piano and less of the cornball synths.

  • @robicenco1

omg yes. I hate when he ruins an awesome riff with those cheesy synth lines.

  • 1:12 ... HRNG... PORTNOY WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LEAVE US?!!?!

  • @Octavius2250 You know I still think I have to approve of this ridiculousness. :D

  • For some reason, this was the first ever DT song I heard. I fell in love with the band slowly but surely. Have to say that this one of LaBrie's strongest performances.

  • @Octavius2250 ...That was probably one of the gayest cheesiest things i've ever heard in my life

  • @dreamtheater142 a Fatal Tragedy even :)

  • @dreamtheater142 I can top that! "YOU'VE UNLEASHED THE FUCKING FURY!" As said by the infamous Yngwie Malmsteen. I thought tha.... well they're both pretty gay.

  • @lastinlineband1 if u're tryin to say that malmsteen is gay, then you, my friend, are either deaf, or stupid....most likely both...

i think i hear ur friend bieber callin u to play pc games...go listen to IT's shitty music and never come back again, moron

  • @K9Insanity Man, Malmsteen's songs are gay. (lame) And Malmsteen is an arrogant prick who plays the guitar like a violin because he can't do it on a violin. It's an old trick that got old in 1995.

  • @lastinlineband1 actually, the only thing that got old on this page (and it had happened long before '95), my friend, is ur brain...if u dont understand, dont comment...put down the beer, pick up a dictionary or just google it! malmsteen is a technical player, based 90% on theory...a thing that "pricks" like u, and a great deal of the today's guitarists never heard of...he is one of the few who still know how to play, coz he knows WHAT he plays...unfortunately, their era is close to an end

  • @K9Insanity No. There's a huge difference between Dream Theater and Yngwie. When Dream Theater wanted strings or violin in a song they got Mark Wood. Yngwie was always fascinated with classical music but he was also a huge fan of Jimi Hendrix and he got his guitar on the same day that Jimi died. Yeah I agree his era has come to an end but I'd have more respect for him if he actually made an effort to learn the violin instead of winging it on guitar. No need to get angry over debates K9. =)

  • @dreamtheater142 you've ever "read" in your life,

  • @dreamtheater142 I dont understand your comment. Please explain.

  • @dreamtheater142 And yet it is so good.

  • @dreamtheater142 can you tell me what he wrote? Ctrl+f is failing because octavius closed his account.

  • @rugnillins I looked it up months ago. It was one of those long sentences made up of song names if I remember correctly.

  • Mi favourite song from my favourite album of them!

  • funny that the most powerful riff at 2:38 is played with an almost clean guitar, very little distorsion.

  • @Guitardreams182 funny? isn't funny, is the power of a funky rock riff, played as appropriate: with that tone.

    Distortion doesn't means superiority.

  • @izzymignot Yeah, I agree. With "funny" I meant, like, curious and awesome. english is not mi 1st language haha.

  • if u listen to DT for the first u will say they are awesome but they are just staring i can't fond any video clip O.o .....they fcking started in 1985 :D \\m//

  • this song is fantastic!!!

  • don't ask me why, but this song reminds me of seaworld. Kick ass song though :)

  • @Uzingniga20

how does it remind you of seaworld? hahaha

  • Theme song to ozzies fort in chrono trigger

  • That little riff Petrucci does in there at the end of the first several measures where he apeggiates and then moves up a half step and does it again - that's better than most guitar players entire repertoire...

  • Amazing

  • john petrucci=holy god!!!!!!!

  • While I was listening to this song I heard a strange noise from behind me. It was my girlfriend organisming.

  • @ploxioths Why is that such a strange noise, for YOU?? if you don't mind me asking :-D

  • @LiViNaCoFgReeN

    ...Touche

  • UNCANNY STRANGE DEJA VU!!!!!!

  • i hope the 13 dislikes fuck they'r selves

  • best attack in 2.39.

  • I love the chorus when James and Mike sing at the same time.

  • todos los temas de dream son iguales !!! (no digo que no me gusten, solo digo lo que me parece)

  • @nikitofin sip, sobretodo the dark eternal night con anna lee, demasiado iguales

  • @nikitofin iguales????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  • @narcotica1981 Metropolis pt. 1 is a song ;) if you don't know don't invent something that doesn't exist to get on with people

  • how could anybody dislike this song? it almost irritates that 12 people honestly have no taste in music.

  • @voyezcout I don, but I hear it in Octavarium ! lol

  • Ariel Altrats, which claims to admire this song, is actually super mega GAY .

  • cool

  • 2:38 WOOOOOOOOOOH

  • That is creepy look at the album cover while listening to this song. Do not look away. It is really creepy.

  • I'm not gonna lie, it's hard at first to enjoy complicated music like this. The first time i heard DT i didn't really catch on and I dismissed it. But after a while, as you progress to liking more complex music, you really learn to appreciate it. DT is the best effin' band ever!

  • This song just makes me mad because this happens to me all the time. I have great dreams and when I wake up I am pissed.

  • Omfg. I've just bought this album today and I think I've listen thi riff : 2:38 about 200 times.

  • Other bands are really good and stuff, but Dream Theater is BY FAR the most talented and the sound of it is just incredible

  • the best part of this song is from 0:00 to 5:13

  • amazing sound quality! but this song is so great i cant it gives me shivers every time i listen to it

  • @herreraparallel777 i agree completely and i probly couldnt listen to dream theater without james' amazing voice i love it!

  • 4:12 - 5:13

  • WOAH I thought singers like Draiman and Matt Shadows were good, but this is incredible!

  • @enetickk Well they are good. For their genre. I love both those bands. But LaBrie is amazing lol

  • This Scenes From A Memory, Dream Theater at their best. An epic album. I think Rudess merely joint to this so called 'organization'? Hilarious. I saw Rudess note 'about me' something like that, he mentioned joining an established band, ' joining little organization called Dream Theater'. Ups, he changed his notification by saying 'I am keyboardist in Dream Theater'. Strange Deja avu.

  • The new drummer is really good.Technically he is as good as Portnoy, but he lacks the emotion Portnoy had.He is too technical.

  • Oh i hate the vocalist.

    It ruins excelent music.

  • @BernaPacola1 u mad

  • @ 2:38 - Very catchy riff

  • Comment removed

  • at 3:26 you can hear james hetfield voice :DD

  • Although not many could fill Mikes shoes, I think Matt Mckenna from Outworld would do a great job. The Grey Tide is a perfect example.

  • 0:00 - 5:13 is the best part of this music '-' aposkpaoskapsok

  • @JustD972 I couldn't disagree more with you. All of them work together to write songs and if any of them were to be removed it wouldn't be the same. It will be interesting seeing what direction they choose to go without Mike. If you like LaBrie so much check out Mullmuzzler, his side project.

  • Another great song from the Scenes from a Memory Album.

  • You can kick out of the band Petrucci,Myung and Rudess, and still the band will be kickass with Labrie. But if you kick out Labrie, the band worth shit...

  • the funkie groove before 3:47 is good also

  • this are normal humans

  • 1:55 - 2:32 the best part of the song!

  • Don't say Mike "can't be replaced." Dream Theater thinks differently, as they denied his re-entrance in order to work with their new drummer.

  • @SpaceDyeDream

    Agreed.

By the way, in regards to Mike wanting to return to DT and getting shut down:

    Owned.

  • @leonel1993 Yah ... He shouldn't have done that.

  • mike portnoy no doubt we'll miss him but move on .... ok yeaa he cnt be replaced but atleast dream theater ain't given up and they still will produce great music which they always have done :) im prettyy sure james, john P and john M will say the same

  • 1:54

    3:47

    Those parts are so awesome!

  • M.Young = ASIAN GOD

  • One of my favourite JLB performances.

  • esta 2 3 pero si me gusta el sonido de la guitarra

  • 3:47 The best part for me ^^

  • . . . I love James LaBrie when he ISN'T singing live; he acts like a fool.

  • Is it just me or can I hear a girl in the background also singing?

  • @Samiam232323 Its just you

  • u mean the past labrie right? but now he've recover 100% its bether live

  • i agree man i cant imagine anybody pulling off this album other than Labrie! But its true he really isn't that good live... But i think the reason that most people don't like him is because his style is very ballad-ish and everybody wants that metallica grungy voice to go along with heavy music... everybody is out of that journey and boston style! CRAZY ASS studio musician - RESPECT!

  • @drumbassguitar

Yeah but there are a lot of popular artists with lousy live singing.

  • Everyone who hates labrie needs to shove it. The man has got an incredible range and tone quality. I used to think he sucked because he isnt the hottest live, but lets get real its because he is so freakin amazing in the studio that nobody could get it perfect live.

  • @guitarfreak421

Ah crap I accidentally thumbs downed you. It's plus one for you.

  • This album has probably has the best vocals out of the DT albums. I love how powerful the drums sound!

  • Labrie rules!!!! You see how they did without him on their first album!! It was ok, but nowhere near the greatness of Labrie!!

  • Comment removed

  • Nooo wheres Overture 1928??

  • I still can not understand, Why to many people do not recognize the Labrie's talent?

To be honest, I can not imagine DT without Labrie.

  • @herreraparallel777 I agree... Labrie is fantastic but right now we have to imagine DT without Portnoy. Until I hear an album without him.... I am honestly scared. It is almost impossible to believe that they will find a drummer that is as good and half as creative unless Mike is allowed to come back later on. Labrie is a major part of DT but Portnoy is integral to their domination of the genre.

  • @Echoboy2002 Good Point ¡

  • @Echoboy2002 Truthfully, I'm excited to see just what Dream Theater will do without him. Towards the end, Portnoy seemed more interested in dominating the band's creative process than the genre. I honestly saw this coming.

  • @Rakshasa I hear ya, we know they have the talent to put together a great album. I'll just cross my fingers and hope for the best. It's all we can do.

  • @herreraparallel777 I thought it was obvious that LaBrie was as talented as the other members of the band...

  • @herreraparallel777

You can't? It's called When Dream and Day Unite.

  • @GrizCC

Dream Theater changed Immensely from Dream and Day to Images and Words. And, althought recognizing Dream and Day is an underrated album, I just can't dare to compare both Dream Theaters. They're totally different, as much as DT's records after Kevin Moore's departure.

  • @SpaceDyeDream

I'm not comparing, I'm just commenting on that there was still a Dream Theater before LaBrie came on around the second album, much like you said there was a Dream Theater with the different keyboardists as well.

  • @GrizCC And it's worse.

  • @herreraparallel777 I do,but in my opinion,I don't like it. I love LaBrie,but he was better many years ago.

  • @herreraparallel777 La Brie is talented, but he is not versatile. He is a melodic singer, really good for old DT.

  • @herreraparallel777

Yeah, it's rare when you can find someone who's good at soft vocals as well as yelling/screaming and that throaty "raspy" metal singing.

  • I dunno about you guys, but that chorus from 1:55 to 2:13 gives me shivers every time i listen to this song, its a perfectly melodic chorus, and mike noodling on the hi-hats make it sound so amazing

    ill miss mike :(

  • @a7xironbuckethead666

Tell me bout it...one of the best drummers ever

  • @a7xironbuckethead666 tell me bout it... one of the best drummers ever

  • @a7xironbuckethead666 I'm sure god will put an as good a drummer as Mike Protnoy In their new album

  • ...... sounds the same as all the rest of the music i listen too and at least their lyrics hold more meaning

  • Wow, I start reading comments and it's all about Labrie. Lol, Rush lyrics suck but yet the music seems to have lasted the test of time, which is the band they're always compared to isn't it?. Give up the crap about Labrie already. Every band has its flaw.

  • @jamesgriffyn Err, Rush and the lyrics shouldn't even be compared to Dream Theater, because 1. Neil Peart writes the majority of the lyrics, which DO NOT suck, and do have an internal meaning, and 2. LaBrie is NOT a flaw, he's a talented singer that's another piece of Dream Theater.

  • @goreSTRYKER Lol calm down dude. True fans of these bands have the ability to make jokes about them if they wish. I love Labrie, bought his new solo album recently. If you would have read my comment correctly, I said "give up the crap about Labrie already," meaning "stop making fun of him, haters." People constantly make fun of his live performances and it's annoying. So that's why I said stop.

  • @jamesgriffyn NO!

    >_>

Sorry. I misunderstood. Oh, I did know you weren't hating on LaBrie, but you said "Every band has it's flaw," so I was like "Hmm, that's a bit contradicting." Haha. But, in that aspect, I would agree, there's no reason to make fun of LaBrie's ferociously handsome voice. It does Dream Theater justice.

  • 0:55 sexy bass bend

  • HAhaha I love portnoys background singing.

    It's hilarious

  • @1dew its james actually ... mike cant sing that high

  • Labrie sings this high because that's the vocal style that goes best with progressive music. Take Geddy Lee, for example. A lot of people don't like his voice, but it goes best with the music Rush makes. Labrie is incredibly talented, which is why he's still with Dream Theater. Sucks that Portnoy left.

  • My favorite song

  • 0:00 - 5:13

    orgasm!

  • LaBrie used to have one of the greatest voices Metal has ever seen, even now his voice is still better than 99% of bands out there. If he still had his old, aggressive voice, this song would be even better than it is now.

  • @edctgbujm123: I disagree. I never liked his aggressive voice, except for The Mirror (which is quite strange that I do think it's fine in that song).

Ironically I have quite a similar voice as LaBrie. Raw singing just doesn't work as with singers with deeper voices (we're both high lyric tenors).

  • word.

  • I dunno why people are complaining about LaBrie's vocals; personally, I feel his voice fits Dream Theater perfectly; personally, the current band is the best I've seen in ages.

  • @GalaxyBlasterX la brie's style is too gentle for some of the posers here

  • god i cant express how i feel about this album and song

  • at one point>this song reminds me of--One Last Time which is on the same album

anyone else notice it (its like the voice is in the same key)

  • I'm not 100% fanatic of LaBrie's singing when DT plays LIVE. But, I don't think this specific record (Scenes from a memory) would have sounded any better with a different vocalist, I really don't. In my opinion he is the right voice for the album.

  • @elchafa What I think the big problem Labrie has is that every instrumentalist in the band is such a virtuoso that everyone compares him to Petrucci or Portnoy. I believe he is a very under-rated singer. and it's Prog, high vocals is one of the main characteristics of the genre(most of the time). it takes time to warm up to him, but at the end of the day, the realization that he is an excellent singer eventually comes through.(not to mention his harmonies with Mike sound really cool)

  • @hginct The thing to me is that his tone (I hope that's the word I'm looking for) is kind of annoying when singing live (that can and is easily fixed in studio). But despite that, I still think his voice is right for the album.

  • I think that LaBrie is awesome singer .

  • At the begining, I hated his voice. But with the time, I got used to it. Now, I love his voice, especially in this song.
