Thanks again! I'm lovin' it. In a few days I'm expecting my Helicore medium fiddle string set w/wound e-string. Can't wait to restring and get the sound improvement over whatever I'm using now. I found out about April Verch (and the April Verch Bluegrass Band) looking up Helicore fiddle strings on the D'Addario website.
On your fiddle(s) do you keep the original higher "classical violin bridge " shape, or do you lower the top of the bridge to make it easier for playing double-stops? How much?
Thanks! Rickett's will be my next post....I'm headed to the Harrison Arkansas fiddle convention on the 19th thru the 21st...think I'll take my video camera, and have the wife film a few tunes...Starting to get a little repertoir (don't know if I spelled that right).
Thanks Gary! I hope you do well at Harrison. I spent a lot of time around there 40-45 years ago. Try getting a little further to the east and south and float a canoe down the Buffalo River from Buffalo Point to Rush Creek Landing. Spectacular country and super small-mouth bass-fishing!
Simply wonderful!
