It seems like in most of your vids, the drivers are ALWAYS wearing athletic shorts, like they're gonna run off and play soccer, go work out, or run a mile after work lol
GREAT work, thats gotta be tough on your wrists twisting and dragging heavy bins full of glass and other stuff all day. Do you know which plastics are accepted in commingled there (assuming theyre numbered like they are here)? Thanks for the vid, 10 stars!!
A lot of these Manly commercial bottle bins don't tend to be packed with pure glass, so not as bad as it might seem, but definitely still wouldn't be easy like you said. Last I checked, Manly only takes plastics numbers 1-5... strange thing is, since Warringah's new contract started, we can put all rigid plastic containers in the bottle bin, the co-mingle goes to the same transfer station, so don't see why Manly can't recycle all plastics too? Thanks for the comment =]
haha yeah, it doesn't make sense...here it used to be 1 and 2 only, but suddenly they changed it, as I noticed one time looking on EDI's site, so now it's "Narrow neck plastics 1-7", so I guess lids to stuff like butter containers wouldn't count?? Even if it's the same kind of plastic? LOL! I'm now taking stuff like plastic 4, 5 and 6 to the recycle center to make SURE it gets recycled lol. I think the 4 plastic goes for like $3 / lb. or something, and aluminum
(normally the most valuable), is only like $1 something, so it's a double bonus :D
Well that's good to hear that most aren't 100% glass, that WOULD be hard on the wrists when you think about flipping the container around so it lines up with the tipper...
that doesn't matter. glass for recycling has to be broken anyway, because most of the bottles is the air inside which just occupies space. it is later molten down and made new glass.
the deposit bottles are different. for example most beer bottles in Germany, there are driven back to the brewery, washed and refilled with fresh beer.

were they full nearly being that the ejector was up front .i like glass bottles collection .i would like to see some action of it over in the uk

On the bottles run they just keep the ejector at the front so the glass doesn't get all packed up, plenty of room left at this time.

The only bad thing collectin glass bottles with a rear loader is the high glass breakage percentage.
