@gromtkn No, babies do not go to hell, neither does any child that has not come into maturity and knowledge. All NDEs of hell have never includued seeing children or animals...not one of them. There are on the other hand, many of NDEs that went to Heaven and report seeing children and animals.

Killing any creature or oneself is a crime. Life is a precious gift and so it is with every living creature. One may feel that suicide is the only way out but in reality it is not so. You cannot escape your fate whether it is good or bad. You have to enjoy or suffer it whether it is in this birth or the next. Have faith in god and the benevolent force will protect you and pull you out of your miseries. It is a cause and effect world that we live in. As you sow so you reap. God has no role in it.

@shadapple To understand what I mean you have to first know what is the role of God in this creation and why God does not serve individual's interest just like our sun does not serve the individual's interest. The sun gives light and heat to everybody irrespective of whether you want it or don't, whether you are good or you are bad. If God is doing something for you, then that very moment he is becoming prejudicial to the rest of his creation.

By facing the sun we get sun's light similarly by remembering and thinking about God the providential qualities lights up within us and when we don't remember and depend on him, God is absent from our life and the qualities of God does not stay with us and we stray away. There is a benevolent force of God much like the sun's life giving light and heat that protects and sustains us and guides us.

You can't condemn a person to eternal fire for ending their own life (and I don't think people really understand what an eternity is) but judging from the way God likes to create life, it would be might silly to kill yourself after you took so long to evolve. I have read thousands of accounts of NDE's, and some include suicides. If one commits suicide thinking that they will escape the problems of life they are sadly mistaken, because you cannot escape what you must learn here. It seems that you may even have to come back and relive your life. Some people that commit suicide seem to be put in some waiting area where they are required to work through their problems. Bottom-line is that it is no escape.

In all that I've read, watched on TV etc, I believe that some cases they do move on as they have now finally got peace but also some of them, regardless if it was mental illness or through torment, still linger!

I think that you ONLY commit suicide when you do not have control over your own mind anymore due to a mental illness. I believe that God will forgive you and take you into his arms because you were truly mentally ill. It says no where in the bible that if you commit suicide, you are murdering yourself. I'm not condoning suicide but just stating that more than twice the Bible speaks about what does happen to us after this life.

As someone who knows from having an NDE (near death experience) at the age of 9 years old I remember very clearly what it was like,yet I took an interest in the after life knowing what I know.

The Bible says the dead either go to the bosom of Abraham or they wait for judgment the latter part of this statement to seems to speak for those who have sinned.

My dad committed suicide in 1997 and I don't think they go to so called Heaven right away. I have never had a visit dream from my father either as I have other people who have passed on so I don't know exactly where my father's soul is. He chose to do it on Christmas day 1997. Of all days. I think it depends on a few things. 1, if you are truly mentally ill, like a sever chemical imbalance. I feel it will not effect your destination. Other wise depending on the situation I do feel they remain earth bound The world became such a part of them they become selfish and forgot about spirituality and their soul. Suicide might be an idea to someone if they had a hard life, want to get away from something, or feel they just don't belong in the world. They could feel forgotten, unsure about life's meaning, or literally mental in their head. I'm not meaning this offensively. That's just one cause.

the concept of heaven and hell is not physical but emotional. if you had the chance to do what is right in this life and decided not to when you get to the other side hell will be you knowing you could have made it but didn't. after this life is the spirit world where we will await our judgment day with god then you will judge your self and know exactly what kingdom you deserve based on your life. suicide can not be judged cause it could have been extremely hard for that person.

I think I believe the Wiccan view on this. I personally believe in reincarnation, and in the books I have read, and some Wiccans I have spoken to, I had this question in mind. When I was younger I attempted suicide, so I wondered what would happen to the soul. It is said that the soul will have to live another life and repeat all of the hardships that affected its previous life, and the soul will keep doing this if need be until it is strong enough to make it through life, without ending itself.

I personally believe that their souls would not stay in limbo but might move down a notch when reborn. I believe the soul is reborn to try and sort out past problems until that soul reseaches its true goal of pruety. I can assure you... what happens is the person who intentionally commits suicide is placed in isolation after physical death. This isolation they have created for themself starts here. All they will experience in the afterlife will be minimal back round. Perhaps a plain area with a table and a chair. No contact is allowed with others until THEY decide to look up and see the LIGHT. These people can and should go ahead and do this in the physical, it's much easier, feel the love of others

I too have lost friends, 5 in fact all under the age of 20 due to suicide, it pains me to think they could be trapped here. I remember feeling the presence of one particular friend the day after he died. The sad thing was he told me he was going to do it, we talked and I begged him not to. I actually got to say good bye to him, essentially saying 'see you in the next life' I'll always remember the feeling of me hugging him and the last smile I saw. I think an investigation wouldn't be that hard, but you might have to search for the lost soul. It might wonder a bit for a while, but will eventually end back to where it had released it's self. I definitely depends on the persons religion beliefs also. i.e. ( Christan - catholic type religion would be too scared to cross over in fear of prosecution.) This gets deep, tough subject.

I think that it has a lot to do with what the person thought before they committed suicide. I think we are only trapped on this plane as a ghost, if we are afraid to move on or don't know any better. I think that if you commit suicide, If you go to that first level of heaven that you will probably learn that you need to be reincarnated at some point, to learn what you were here to learn in the first place if you want to heal your soul & grow into a more complete being. Hi Brandy, I'am a Christian with a free will belief. We were given a soul. We know from logic there is a Heaven, we have no proof of hell. Whether a soul is a dimension traveler or not, who knows. We die and our soul goes to an afterlife. That is the way of our Universe. I doubt tjat our souls will reflect our life on Earth. I perceive afterlife as an ascention to a new level of existence. Much of religious text was hidden from us in ancient times. All we know is that which wer were taught.

I feel that when a death is surrounded by unresolved turbulent emotions (as suicides often are) there is a tremendous confusion in the departing soul which often leads to that soul being unable to transition properly to the next realm. There are probably exceptions--as in doctor assisted suicide where a person feels they are ready to die or in the case of seppuku or other ritualized or honorific suicides where the death is considered as serving the common good.

I have no idea what happens to a person after suicide. Or even if there is really a soul. Alot of hauntings are related to suicides and murders, because a persons life has been cut short, and obviously if your murdered you can't rest in peace because your soul is in turmoil that some cold blooded asshole killed you. As for the suicide's well life is a test, everything negative that happens is a test from god and suicide is like an automatic fail so your soul is left in turmoil/purgatory/earthbound.

I do think that if you are experiencing such strife that you take life, you do not rest in peace , I think I should elaborate and say that if youre terminal, and choose to kervorkian, or starve to death then you might rest, but not sure Also, the way you end your life says a lot about how you lived, what you felt, and how you will "end up". I hope you can get some residual, Brandi, that may help you. Those left behind are always left in the unending quandry of "what ifs".

Hi Brandi, I think that when you commit suicide you sort of interrupt your destiny (this answer is of course only useful if you truly believe in destiny). You have many things to come in your life and I think that when you commit suicide, your soul will follow the same path as normally, only without the body, or stays as long on earth as your life would normally last. Upon death, i think our souls go to a different plane of existence. i think there are many. If the deceased has lived a spiritually fulfilled life, their soul goes to a plane that could be described as closer to the light. If one's life was not spiritually fulfilled, taking one's own life is an example of this, then their soul goes to a plane that isn't closer to the light than they were in this life, and stay until ready to re enter this plane and learn what they were unable to the last time.
