Since the current group of Rep. in office do not seem to understand the "Checks and Balances" we all learned about in Elementary school that are in the Constitution, is it really surprising they don't get checks and balances in business and the economy. Clearly self-interest cannot be the sole determination of what is good for the economy. Country First? I think not. $ First and to heck with anyone isn't in the top 5% of the money making "Elite".
