This looks epic. Just a bit of constructive critisicm. I think that in the beginning, you overdid the color correction, and the buy's face looks green.
Dang if only you would've been filming me in elementary school. When I jumped out of a swim and landed on my face. I'm pretty positive that would be EPIC if you edited like this.
@Ciqify well I know that if you put it on manual mode, you can adjust the shutter all the way to 4000, but I'm not sure if the lens itself has a limit on the shutter speed? Usually I just crank the wheel on the top of the camera and it can go up to 4000.
What an AMAZING!!! video, great job. Very impressed, i might just have to go buy the camera, i've been thinking of getting this camera for a long time. I think with my basic knowledge of after effects and cannon there would be some amazing videos of my own. Tell me what you think of my after effects videos
@Foodfast123 Unfortunately Express has no setting available. Since I'm not familiar with the regular version, I am not sure what makes it better (but figure it probably is).
I really enjoy this footage and it has been instrumental in my decision to purchase the T3i instead of the Nikon D5100. 60fps is huge. Nikon missed the boat on that. Thanks for posting
How did you get such an amazing quality? I have the T3i too and when I record my video and put it in my computer and use Windows Movie maker to edit it, then I save it in a ''High Definition File'' and when I upload it to YouTube the quality is not as good as this.
@AndresRomeroBlog dont use windows movie maker, use vegas or after effects. most likely the problem comes from windows movie maker, but still do you export on 1080p?
@gogosyamaha11 I still export on 1080p but Is nothing close to this, where can I get a good video editor for free? I might buy a Macbook and start editing with iMovie and Final Cut Express but until then... what free software can I use? (please send link in a message)
@AndresRomeroBlog I might be wrong on this, but you might be mistaking render quality for the effects he used(color correction, vignetting) and the quality that comes from using a different lens (Not the Kit lens)
@yayarea82 - it's tricky, there is warping on it in some places. It's most visible at 0:29 (chains) and 1:00 (left foot). I chose clips that gave me the least amount of warp. Things that move fast don't do very well, so I slowed some of the clips in which the subject was in the slowest part of the motion.
@ar170na I bought this camera a day or two ago because of this video, and I really do thank you for making it. It was totally worth it. The question is, however, how is the shutter speed set to 4000? I can't find the option in the manuals or the camera itself.
@midnightcobra1111 - no - I used Motion on another machine because Motion is not available for Final Cut Express. I could not figure out the best way to use Mpeg Streamclip.
@airsoftNgames - yes, the shutter speed goes pretty low and as high as 4000.
@ampix0 and @mrroninmann - I used the canon EF 50mm 1.8 lens. I had the aperture fully open to be able to get enough light in the shot. Hope that helps.
Good question. I believe the shutter speed was around 4000 to maximize the crispness of the frames and minimize blur. In addition, I kept the ISO as low as possible to reduce the noise levels (around 400?) and opened up the aperture as much as I could. This was shot with a 50mm 1.8 lens, and I kept it at 1.8. I honestly can't remember for certain because the t3i doesn't seem to want to output .thm files...
Will post a clip from the source as a reference...
@ar170na My god... I had no idea this was even possible, you have sold a lens sir. This is incredible. I am buying this camera with in a month or so and you have completely sold me on it with this.
Would you mind sharing you camera settings for the raw footage? Guessing ur shutter speed was 2000-4000 and you were shooting at 720p 60fps, what was your iso and such? It was absolutley amazing quality which is why i am asking :)
