  • Holy crapsticles! That's an unbelievable plug-in! That's next on my list!

  • Мудак не мог в лучшем качестве выложить

  • sadly i'm getting the feeling that it would be easier to just learn how to make a joint based rig for the face with a few simple controlling curves

  • is there a face machine for 3ds max? or somethng similar?

  • Can the face machine be used on my own custom character, or is it only compatible with your rigs?

  • @ChibiJoey - Rigs created with The Face Machine work with your Maya humanoid face. If your face has a snout, beak, or very alien arrangement of features, it would not be the right choice for you.

  • @ChibiJoey It can be used on your own custom characters, but they should be humanoid in shape. Beaks, snouts, or faces with mouths above the eyes (for example) won't work with this plug-in.

  • i would like to know if you can add new videos with more quality now the youtube have HD capability? Thank you its kinda hard too see all the curves and this is way better and faster than watch the pdf. Thanks!

  • This must take forever to fully learn. I'm still having a hard time learning the full extent of Maya

  • just intigrated it into mi my rigged character, damn does it get slow, even when textures are off.

  • Can this be used with animal faces such as a cartoon Squirrel or something with a beak? Or is it strictly for humans ?

  • wow..i saw somebody in my 3D class use this for his senior project, got it from you guys. It looks good and worked well, the weights of the lips had to be fixed the old way, but after all of that it worked well. for me! it just means a nice way to see if a model of a character is going to deform well or not face wise. But awesome !!

  • This looks great! Is there any similiar system for 3Ds Max?

  • do you have this tutorial of joint and locator?

  • PERFECT!!!

Is there any plan to port it to other softwares like Cinema 4D or better yet Modo?

  • Unfortunately, TFM is not very portable. With future development, we hope to port it to Max and XSI. We really haven't planned for C4D yet.

I was under the impression that Modo wasn't an animation package.

  • Modo 401 will go in that direction:

thx for your reply even if I'm very sorry to hear that C4D is cut out of your plans.

While I'm at it,perhaps you could explain why every automatic character rig system, your TSM2 included, needs still to adjust by hand each "bone" or joint while this:

place all in place really automatically.

Also what is the technical difficulty to use the "center line" of Modo's "sketch extrude" as base for the skeleton?

  • Unfortunately, we have no experience with Modo, so we can't comment on that.

As for the "Pinocchio" system you refer to, it's a very cool system in theory, but we feel it doesn't place bones as well as it should to allow for the quality of joint deformation required for high quality 3D production.

It shows promise, but it's not fully developed yet for a production environment.

  • so how much is this program? It's for maya so I'd be willing to bet alot :(

  • $199 and it comes with a year of free updates.

  • I know this is another dumb question but could I get a tutorial of how to make that face? I'm unfamiliar with Maya but it looks like it would be fun to work with

  • We don't produce any Maya modeling tutorials, but you should be able to find a fair number of them online, both for sale and free.

  • awesome

  • is this plugin only for mac?

  • For Mac, Windows, and Linux

  • omg shame i dont have maya ;(

this is brilliant though. in fact i may consider getting maya just for this. i hate having to rig faces, its impossible... but this is brilliant

  • Thank you for this wonderful demonstration!!

  • If you are using the Setup Machines also, should you rig the setup machine first than the face machine?

  • err... where can i get the face machine into my viewport? is it from menu?.. or plugins?.. sorry i'm new in this. thx for rep[lying :)

  • WOW Guys this is a really powerful plug-in great job! I'm definitely sold!!

  • TFM? Whats that?

  • "The Face Machine" ... i assume.

  • Yes, TFM means "The Face Machine"

  • OH!HOW TO SAY IT, In the right of the film, you can see the form, and then when you are doing the face end, you got to rig it in the form, the form of under the rig was I wanted to say where is a rig push in maya, I just want to know where is the form?

  • The window that you see on the right is a teared off Pre Rig menu from The Face Machine menu that exists after you install TFM.

  • wow thats really handy
