I can't find the folder, can anybody help? The get_iplayer folder in my program files has tons and tons of files and no folder called iPlayer Tutorial.
Thanks for the tutorial. Is there a way of getting the larger screen size version of all shows - 832 x 460? (Not HD version, just the larger screen size of the standard versions.)
I managed to get some results but all of them seems to be from a newer date, like the day before.. I want an episode which is two weeks old. Why can't I see those episodes in the list?
@TechTutorialChannel Hi, thanks for the tutorial I had one problem downloading get iplayer when the lame3.984/zip file was reported as file not found (404). The rest of the file seemed to download OK and when i ran the programme and typed the program I wanted "get_iplayer __get 502" the screen showed one matching program but did not start to download. Is this because of the lame fie being missing? Thanks
Thanks very much for your simple tutorial. Before watching your tutorial, I looked at the cmd-like interface and uninstalled it immediately (I got scared!!). But now, I can download programmes. Awesome!!
To give you and update, it no longer appears to a be a fault for me just a random glitch. In recent tries, a number of programmes have downloaded first time without fail. So i tried again with the ones that kept failing. The same error kept occuring, but I've found that if I constantly deleted the file each time it failed and tried again, after approx 10 attempts in one sitting, the programme would download completely. Not sure why it does this, but is a solution for me. Many thanks 4 help!
Hi TT. For the version I already had on my computer I downloaded the patch and did as instructed, but same problem. Then d/l and installed the the latest version with patch included but same fault occurs. It seems to vary what I can d/l (before & after patch), for example 'The Code' the first episode fails to download, but the second episode in series d/l with no faults. -- Many thanks for your efforts in trying to fix it for us, can't thank you enough! Let me know if any more info required.
@SW6surfer Try "get_iplayer --type=tv --pid=PIDHERE --modes=flashhigh" but replace PIDHERE with the program PID which you can find on the iplayer website by going to the programme you want to download and looking in the URL after "/episode/". e.g b012xnqw
I have the same problem as StephenCowie. I just installed and after downloading about 13% it gets stuck in a a Stream does not start with requested frame, ignoring data..It then attempts to re-record and then states, Couldn't resume FLV file, try --skip 1, loop. Any ideas?
Hi, Your tutorial and program are brilliant. I would buy this program! the BBC should be aware that as licence payers we don't want restrictions because as can be seen by many other comments, the content is brilliant and we want to keep them so we can watch them at our leisure and watch them time and again! Thanks for enabling me to save the documentaries I have been able to collect in a short period of time. I do hope you are able to find a fix! Many thanks again
Hi, Thanks for responding. I did re-install it and still no joy. I then uninstalled it, rebooted and reinstalled it. It still starts the loop again at about 20%. I installed it on another PC in the house which runs wirelessly off of the main machine and it does the same! I'm baffled! I will install it on my laptop and see if I get a result there. The program worked really well and then for some unknown reason ceased to work. Any ideas?
@StephenCowie Same problem for me too. It started last week after using the program for about 3 months with no problems. I can't remember exactly when it started last week but I had just downloaded a full hour programme, was roughly 20% through another download when it stopped exactly the same way as the StephenCowie described. Ever since then all downloads (well the ones I have randomly selected) produce the same error and stop downloading.
@TechTurial - Hope you can find a fix, but if not...
@TechTurial - Hope you can find a fix, but if not many thanks for creating a fucking brilliant programme! My shitty Humax PVR came with a programme to do the exact same thing but it couldn't hack it. You're programme was spot and free! I can't thank you enough for enabling me to save the documentories that I can watch over and over. You are guys are the best!
BBC If you're reading, feel free to get one of your lawyers to send me a letter. I'll quite happily send a letter the BBC Trust in response and explain how I use this program to save fascinating documentories packed full of interesting facts about life. I'll then go on to inform the Trust how I think these documentories can be produced far cheaper, should be made available to watch again and not stored in the BBC Archive that only a select few get to access.
hi TechTutorialChannel, I've been using get_iplayer for a couple of weeks. Really excellent! I had no issues at all until I cleaned my registry. I'm not blaming that but since then, the command line still finds the program name and ID No, however, when downloading, normally at 20%, a loop begins which reads
WARNING: Stream does not start with requested frame, ignoring data..It then attempts to re-record and then states, Couldn't resume FLV file, try --skip 1, and then returns to above. Help!
It works very well on windows, well done. Since it seems to have a quite strong Linux flavor, I wonder why there is no a linux package at the web site. So, how could I run this on my linux slackware distro? thank you so much.
@leorojas82 Linux users should find that their distribution has a get_iplayer package which will automatically pull in all required dependencies (rtmpdump, ffmpeg, etc.). Fedora users, for example, will find get_iplayer in the RPM Fusion repository of packages for the "Free World". Just issue the command 'yum install get_iplayer'
Thank you, an excellent tutorial. I can now download whatever I choose without any restrictions! Be warned though, this program requires a direct Internet connection, for some reason it won't work from behind an external Firewall device. Thanks again though! :D
@TTC Ty but I'm afraid I have tried and failed with that program (I believe new security measures on some sites are getting the better of it). What I ended up doing was downloading the set from somewhere, and capturing the encore and I'll edit them together :)

@cod26 I've just tried it and it worked. I just searched for 'glastonbury' and Coldplay, U2, Biffy Clyro, Mumford & Sons and some others have come up. What are you searching for?
@TechTutorialChannel Oh did you, for some reason mine isn't working so i;ve found another way of doing it :-) So its all good i'm using 'StreamTransport' which works brilliantly
