I love the performance and this arrangement. Yes, I missed the euphonium solo but the viola and cello voicing really is welcome (and for the record, I'm a woodwind player and therefore claim a neutral predisposition).

I'm curious what the folks in the front of the audience are doing--it's sort of like bobbing. It also reminds me of watching someone ride a horse.

I love this. I miss the euph. part in "Portsmouth" but the entire recording is excellent.  Shivers!

WE seem to be losing our maritime culture in Great Britain. The removal of the sea songs from the Proms and the sale of our sail trainingships abroad are examples.

Cool! An orchestra version of Sea Songs. The orchestra played this extremely well. I especially like the cello and violas carrying the melody at "Portsmouth"...so mellow and flowing
