  • I love the performance and this arrangement. Yes, I missed the euphonium solo but the viola and cello voicing really is welcome (and for the record, I'm a woodwind player and therefore claim a neutral predisposition).

I'm curious what the folks in the front of the audience are doing--it's sort of like bobbing. It also reminds me of watching someone ride a horse.

  • I love this. I miss the euph. part in "Portsmouth" but the entire recording is excellent. Shivers!

  • that...was...ungodly awesome

  • WE seem to be losing our maritime culture in Great Britain. The removal of the sea songs from the Proms and the sale of our sail trainingships abroad are examples.

  • I love it!

  • From 00:48 it is the same tune that Anglia TV used in the 1970/80's for their start up every morning!

  • Beautiful music but for those of us of a certain age it will always bring forth memories of Billy Bunter of Greyfriars School.

  • darn they took out the euphonium solo... D:

  • Cool! An orchestra version of Sea Songs. The orchestra played this extremely well. I especially like the cello and violas carrying the melody at "Portsmouth"...so mellow and flowing

  • im playing this in school now. its a fun pice to play

  • Simply a beautiful piece.
