  • FOR YOU GUYS AND GALS, THAT DON'T HAVE THIS SONG AND WANT IT.....I-TUNES HAS IT. THAT'S WERE I GOT IT FROM.

  • Devo ripped this shit off this is the beginning of whip it.

  • I too heard the Disco cover by Rosebud first, before I discovered it was actually a cover of a Pink Floyd tune.

I actually like the Rosebud cover the best. Used to play it quite a lot back in 1978-1981 time period at partys when I was doing the Mobile DJ gig.

Thanks for posting this one up. I still have the WB vinyl 12" 45 RPM as pictured.

  • @Dual500

    CHE BEllO!

  • old skool disco /high energy..the good old days..

  • @djentity2008 for sure those were the good old days !!

  • I actually discovered this song before I found out that Rosebud was not the original author. This song is in fact based on a Pink Floyd song of the same name. I have heard them both, and I love them both. But this cover version is very special. I believe the Pink Floyd version came out 1975, and this came out 1979 as a tribute to Pink Floyd. This is one of my top 10 Disco songs, if not the number one.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!! Thank you so much!

  • So did Pink Floyd copy this song from Rosebud. NNNNNN

  • @ZMWinkler Incorrect. Pink Floyd was first. Roger Waters wrote this song. Look at the image for the video it says "Have a Cigar (Waters)". This is originally from an album called "Discoballs: A Tribute to Pink Floyd"

  • which came first? this or pink floyd's version?

  • @42fontenator this. then pink floyd, then foo fighter, then primus.

  • Sandra Dee Lawson.

then got too big for her britches, and we dethroned her, just like donna summer, the poor thing.

I like Pink, but i think this one is so much!

  • If you are smoking a "J" yes Pink Floyd is better. On the other hand, if you are screaming down the highway or dancing your tail off, this version is better.

  • This version is good, but it can't beat pink floyd's ;-)

  • oh crap! where's my leather pants......

    LOVE THIS SONG.

  • You stink!! They did Pink Floyd better!!!!

  • Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.....been looking for this for YEARS ( all my vinyl is in storage )..I used to mix in and out of this song several times a night until 6 or 8 people would ask "What is that Cigar song I keep hearing ?" I would then stop, announce it and start an energy set ending up with On Fire, T-bones, or brainstorm. It still is my all time favorite Disco song - it fit everything from 55 to 128 bpm. Disco was very, very good to me...and this song was part of it....a big part.

  • cool cool cool

  • First heard this song on Disco 94 in Houston and then at the bars

  • Classic disco fever!

  • Holy crap, I remember this! Hilarious! Thanks.

  • I recorded it as a child on my moms beatbox. got the song straight off the KSFX disco airwaves!

  • KSFX with the black oval sticker with rainbow fringe? Yeah!

  • Do you have "Money" which was on the B side of this one?

  • First discos song I got down to in 1978 i was 12

  • omg..I heard this song at a park and never heard it again and damn I looked for it Thanks for the post
