i've been seeking a good variation of canon. The original in D is great, but imo it's more potential than perfection. This is....a good try but not exactly what i'm looking for. I do like the idea of making parts of it faster or more complex though. Certainly gets points for originality.

But meanwhile I stick to the original. Nothing against you and your good playing, it's just a matter of: the original is the one and only :-))

The original is a 3-part canon at the unison over an ostinato bass.

I have to wonder if the people who say they "love canon" even understand what is meant by "3-part canon at the unison over an ostinato bass", because there's no canon to be heard in this jazzy pop tune arrangement.

It seems that what is actually admired is not the counterpoint, but the tune when it's played jazzy, pop, or sentimental.
