  • Everyone complaining about how Nintendo dissed this game for the SNES in favour of the N64.

At the same time it's not okay if they still develop games for the DS when the 3DS is already out.

The conclusion? Doesn't matter what Nintendo does, people will whine about anyway.

I think this is a great game but for those interested, you can download a 100% rom of this game somewhere. Just use google.

  • is this game for real? where can i get it

  • @MexicanPimp it got cancelled before its release even though it was finished

  • holy fuck!!the first game on earth witch by the way whas played on a radar screen looked better!hahaha lol!

  • @Criomorph this was made for the snes which is only suppose to do 2D

  • 01:27 - Miyu = Boo?!

  • How do you even control y-axis with only one d-pad?

  • Looks incredible.

  • This definitely puts Battlemorph (sequel to Cybermorph) to shame.

  • Good lord those graphics are incredible for a SNES.

  • Holy .... FUCK.

  • macbeth from starfox 2 is like solar in starfox 64

  • Fuck nintendo, all of my hate.

  • Y'know, it couldn't hurt for Nintendo to release this as a Virtual Console game. Nintendo HAS to still have a ROM of this game, right? I mean, it doesn't look like there's anything wrong with this one. And so what if it got cancelled before it could be officially released? It's still a finished SNES game, and it looks good enough to belong on the VC service.

  • @BlueEmeraldX Sadly, that's a very long shot. Same goes for both EarthBound games. There is a way to get NoA to release this game for the VC, but the order needs to come from the main source, Japan. Unless Nintendo Inc. says so, NoA cannot release this or any other games in this market.

  • @BlueEmeraldX i agree

  • muito ruim , prefiro o star fox 1 ou star fox 64....

  • 3:28 its a star destroyer!!!!!

  • 24 people are a detestable punks!

  • It's hard to believe that this is running on a SNES... just wow.

  • @TalesOfReason He is useing an emulator to see it run on a real snes check out my videos

  • @TalesOfReason yeah. The modern kids have been robbed blind of capabilities of computers. Look into "Demo Scene" . Be amazed on what can fit on 150 kb or less. Crysis was not only unrealistic (spend some time in a rreal forest you will know what i mean) but wasted resources like mad without having anything to show for it over the quake engine.

  • My friend patrick has the cart for this game... but he doesnt have an snes (or his is broken i cant remember)

  • it's the arwing... but with FEET!

  • how do you aim in land form

  • 0% damage to corneria you can't do better than that

  • hopefully retro studio makes the next starfox

  • I love the star destroyer-esque battleships :D

  • This is probably the best game that never saw the light of day! It added SOO much to the starfox franchise and seems so ahead of its time after playing Starfox 64 and command. The original is also one of my all time faves.

  • this game looks scary

  • im getting the rom but nintendo make a remake of this just to let people know it was finished but the n64 came out they need to just update its graphics and sound and release it

  • @flameheat1000 "Just" update its graphics and sound ^^

  • @k1ngTony am i missing something?

  • Wtf, this game looks AMAZING. D= I hope they make a Starfox just like this. Not too much storyline; just lots and lots of shooting and explosions and lasers and omg.

  • best series ever!

  • I just realised how awesome this would have been. (it reminds me of Macross/Robotech since the arwing's have a Gerwalk/Guardian type mode.)

  • Thumbs up if you want to see this game released officially via Virtual Console :D

  • did star fox 3DS get released yet? i was asking because if they dont call the 3DS Version STARfox 2: return of Star Wolf.... i will kick their heads off!

  • @SSCode09 The 3Ds one is a remake of star fox 64.

  • @S0ryiu but DID they release it?

  • @SSCode09 Yes.

  • Who's Miyu?

He should be a part of the Starfox Team :L

    He looks kinda cool.

  • @MahajiHaji Miyu is actually a girl....And she is a member of Star Fox...

  • @grassdancer2000 k nerd

  • @MahajiHaji Heh, cute....

  • @grassdancer2000 Heh, cute...

  • Ugh I wish this game was released because I never knew about it! Thanks, for making a youtube viddeo of it! :P

  • How can I download this with the patch?

  • I really hope miyamoto is reading all of these comments and is shoving his fist up his ass for not releasing this game...

  • I went fucking crazy for the first star fox when i was 6...I would have gotten a heart attack had this piece of majestic video game been released. Its a shame that todays games dont "WOW" me anymore like the games back in the mid-to-late 90's. Am I the only one that feels like this now? The last time I went crazy because I waited for a game was HALO 2. Games are now about "realism" like Call of Duty! I Play video games to escape reality, not be reminded of it!!!! So long Star fox 2 :'(

  • You can go online a buy a reproduction cart of this game so you can play it on your actual Super Nintendo

  • I really wish this came out..

  • I wish i had this game! DX

  • Reminds me of Megaman Legends/64. I wonder if some of the same artists did it.

Also, according to Wikipedia, the game was fully finished, but unreleased because they wanted to make a "clear distinction" between the SNES and the superior 64 graphics in order to garner interest in the 64.

    Sad, really.

  • Damn look at the graphics! I knew SNES was awesome but I never thought I would see those graphics on SNES 0_0. Amazing!

  • some one is selling this for 200 bucks another sucker is selling this for 120 bucks

  • how u get this

  • Why couldn't Starfox 64 be like this?

  • good thing i have a whole day to waste =P

  • this game should get a Cafe remake

  • The only reason this wasn't released is because it was too close to the release of the N64.

    ...

    W...T...F.

  • the game was more or less done and they never released it. pity.

  • I'm so glad soemone took the time to finish this off after and translate it all.

  • thumbs up for starfox online co-op

  • Supposedly Nintendo wanted keep the idea of 3D innovation attached to the upcoming N64. And they felt a SNES game with these graphics would tarnish their brand. A lot of this game was repackaged as Star Fox 64.

  • I wonlder if this was where Starfox Command came from?

  • 1:29

Fox: *thumbs up* Whaat what what whaat.

  • I got the ending recoded, here's what they said:

    Pepper: "Good job, Star fox."

Fox: "It was a team effort."

    ?: "Quite a mission!"

    ?: "Are you okay, Fox?"

Fox: "Let's head back to Corneria."

Hope this helps you guys, later.

  • Nice Video, I played the older beta of starfox 2 this is amazing to see a complete version of what I played. Thanks for the vid

  • just tiny stages... so annoying !!! I prefer real long stages !!

  • I dont see how this game was "too different" to be released but Star Fox Adventures is allowed to get made. What gives Nintendo? Why have you been mishandling the StarFox series so much?

  • @theSuperMetroid Talk about mishandling... how about not handling at all!? The lack of a Star Fox title for Wii has kept me from buying the system since its release.

  • @DontrelleRoosevelt Yeah, it's a real shame. It seems like everything's taken a back seat to Mario, Metroid and Zelda these days. The problem is, Nintendo ruined Metroid with Other M, a lot of people (myself included) are getting sick of Mario after 30 years, and Zelda hasn't really changed much since OoT.

  • @theSuperMetroid I've never really been into Metroid myself and I haven't played a Zelda game since Link to the Past! I'm also really tired of Mario games at this point, and to all those people that think Nintendo has the fans in mind when making games, think again! They're in it for the top dollar more than just about any other developer out there, or they'd produce a new F-Zero or Star Fox by now. Rehashing Star Fox 64 on the 3DS is okay, but for me, that was my least favorite of the three.

  • Also, why won't Nintendo at least have another developer work on a new Star Fox, like they did before? I heard rumors of Platinum working on the next game.

  • @theSuperMetroid They thought this would be released just before the N64, and thus have very little shelf life.

  • @SuperNESFreak Shame :( I guess they weren't think in the long run. Super Mario RPG was one of the last games released for the SNES and now it's also one of the most sought after and valuable games for the system.

  • @theSuperMetroid Actually, this wasn't released because the N64 was about to be released around the time this was complete, and the company felt that no would play the SNES when the N64 came out

  • @theSuperMetroid You... you ain't dissing Adventures now, are you?

  • @theSuperMetroid They mishandle everything that doesn't have Mario in it.

  • @theSuperMetroid no, they didn't release it because the n64 was coming out next year, and the creator wanted to make Starfox on then64 instead of another one on the Snes.

  • @theSuperMetroid Adventures was made by Rare, not Nintendo.

  • @theSuperMetroid

Star Fox Adventures was originally supposed to be it's own game, but Nintendo told Rare to add Star Fox characters to it, to increase sales I think.

Probably would've been better if it was a new IP though. Lol

  • I can see why they never released it, the game is far too disjointed and random. Great technically mind but the level design is poor. Starfox 64 nailed it perfectly with the mix of land, air and freeroaming levels.

  • Ah polygon! The cell shading of my childhood!

  • hey i didnt noticed! miyu has a piercing on her left ear!

  • Do a barrel roll!

  • Glad you knew what you were doing 'cause I felt like I was LSD throughout the whole video. "OOOOOO PRETTY COLORS!!!"

  • For $100 you can get this game on a cart to play on a US SNES...it costs so much because of the FX chip...if I had the extra cash lying around, I'd probably do it

  • and thus starfox command was made

  • Video games.

  • 1:30

this fucking looks like wacky workbench

  • @shalpp lol yeah it does!

  • after watching this video, I have one thing to say. AT LEAST PUT THIS ON THE FRIGGING VIRTUAL CONSOLE NINTENDO! This game is awesome! I wanna play this soooooo bad.

  • i dont see y this wasnt released. sure the n64 and starfox was coming but they put lots of money into this game and jus threw it out the window. i think they shudve been released simultaniously.

  • This game looks like a hidden easter egg, I never got this running in Zsnes and thought it was actually unfinished! A fully fledged game they never made a cent from.

However I can see why they didn't release this game. They would have had to explain why features like the walking duck mode don't exist in the later games.

That and the SNES was in it's later days.

  • @jobrook911 the later games didnt exist back then, and this game is part of the snes continuity, not starfox 64 continuity

  • @GodzillaXAbudAwwal

Interesting, I did some checking and what you're saying about the continuity is true.

This means that Starfox 2 was in development at the same time as Starfox 64, the idea being that after Starfox 2's release, they could reset the series and start the story from scratch.

However due to time clashes, if the N64 had been released as expected, the two game concepts would have clashed. I'm convinced the significant deviation in the game style is partly why it was abandoned.

  • @jobrook911 so ur sayin had this been released and n64 been released later as nintendo had originally planned, starfox wudve been an epic failure? hmm, i cud agree with that. i guess at the time it was just a question of choice, since they cant release both games at once, should they sacrifice continuity for technology? or technology for gameplay? and wutabout public opinions? wud they buy a 16 bit super fx 2 enhanced game, or a full blown more advanced 64 bit game?

  • looks like starfox command.

  • this is insanely impressive for the snes,

  • Where and how can i play this ?

  • ZOMGIES TRANSFORMED!!!

  • Dang this looks really good, what were they thinking when they decided not to releace this? I need to find a super-fx cartrage.

  • where can I download this? I want it!

  • I would so love to get a reproduction version of this. Emulation just isnt the same

  • why didn't they relase this game looks cool

  • I just downloaded this same ROM. Are you sure this is the complete FULL game they were planning to release? I just played it for the first time and beat it on easy in about a half hour like you. I was never very good at the original star fox so it really suprised me how fast I beat the game.. I actually thought I was just beating the first level when the game was complete. I think they were planning to add way more content if they actually released this game.

  • @Dame1999 There IS more content! I just downloaded the ROM 2 days ago myself, and easy mode is just too short. If you play hard mode, you'll get a longer game with more content. If you play EXPERT mode, you have to save every frickin' planet, destroy zillions of fighters, missiles and viruses, and you even have to destroy four battleships! I got a few game overs before I managed to beat expert mode (and when I did, it was with luck, not skill). Enjoy!

  • @Kingofcolor on the main menu where the two options are Mission and Record.. I seen one version where there was more options like Training and Controls as well. Have you ever seen this one?

  • holy shit dude these graphics for that time

  • They didnt release it because they didnt want to distract the public from the upcoming N64. But come on! One game isn't going to completely distract the public from the upcoming best console ever!

  • i want this so bad right now... it should be a download for the Wii

  • Nintendo should release a Snes Cart of this for the fans with full cardboard box and all! and keep the 1995 on the box and everything :D just like the old days!

  • They ought to sell this on WiiWare! Come on! Why hasn't anyone thought of that yet? D:

  • 23 people should do a barrel roll.

  • This is my favorite star fox game. This and the first one. If they released this game it would have been a revolution, like all the little movie sequences and stuff and all the features. This could've have been one of the greatest games ever.

  • @TheTeknite: We might've had to wait a little longer, but it would've been worth it, I think. =)

  • I say this. If we all write letters and send constant emails, like it would take like at least 2 million people doing this, but if we did, we could pry get them to put it in the wii shop where we could buy it and play it.

  • dude guess what?

there was this glitch that happend to me (it's very off task but funny... uhh sorta)

i was miyu and i saved venom and when i got back to the map i had turned into peppy for some reason. (i know, this comment was useless, suckish, and a big waste of your time wasent it?)

  • @riolu32 Check out the Expert play of this game. You're not the only one who encountered the glitch.

  • andross has 23 youtube accounts...

  • ಠ_ಠ This was 30% of Star Fox 64?

  • 23 idiots joined the wrong star team...

  • Wolf O'Donnell obviously had a more sinister face in this game. Those yellow eyes with red pupils makes him look extra freaky!

  • My game keeps crashing and its all japanese.. can you tell me where you got your rom? I use Zsnes 1.42

  • @KnuxSD You need to install a translation patch.

  • @KnuxSD You need to find the english translated ROM.

  • do a barrel roll

  • wat duz the robot or somthin say @ 1:25

  • 2:50

    DOWN WITH PENCILS!

  • They could do it for DOS.

PC back then werent i7 but they could do the magic.

ViRGE was one of first 3D graphic card and it was made in 1995.

It was 66MHz and 4MB RAM,while 3D chip on Star Fox 2 Cartrige was 20MHz and game was less than 2MB big.

Too bad nobody could rip models and just make PC version with same graphics.

  • @BranislavDJ Its would be easier to redevelop the models instead of ripping them. ;)Also a game like that would be easy to develop for lets say a game modder or basic c0der. I thing there allready was some sort of starfox remake on moddb-(dot)-com and n!ntendo closed it. Its the same sh!t they did with the fanmade pokemon mmorpg.

  • @mayhemtv

Heh,all we need is fucking Game Maker.

    -.-

That little program can make GTA clone (altough its hard).

  • does the hard mode changes the end of the game?

  • Dang that's sweet. I should get this rom and some metroids.

  • Can i have the game? How did you get to play it?

  • it amazing how the games with shit graphics are sometimes the best

  • @bradymonty this was the seccound 3d game ever give it some respect

  • @bradymonty these are amazing graphics are amazing seeing as this is like the second 3D game on SNES

  • Now that I've seen this video, I'm actually dissapointed that Nintendo didn't release this game! It looks great!

  • Those transmition sounds are pretty funny. Especially Fox's. He sounds like he's going; "What's wha wha!" or something.

  • You can get the rom of this? I saw pictures on google the actual game on a cartridge. -.- Lucky people

  • Thanks for sharing dude, downloading rom! :)

  • How did you turn off the FPS counter?

  • @gamedexterity he used a patch. Search for that :)

  • This may sound ridiculous but I never EVER knew there was a Star Fox 2 game....

  • @caiocollalto your not the only one

  • Fox and Miyu, the greatest combo in the game

  • FAST MISSIONS MUCH...Great game (In a past time though). I would have loved this when I was 5. lol

  • how do you get it

  • Btw.. it Reminds me on Star Fox Command a little... on the ds you know?

  • @SONGOKU02 yes, but star fox 2 is a extremely better than command!

  • @daikenoh hmm.. you think?.. I enjoyed command very much.

  • @SONGOKU02 me too, but none of the series (since starfox 64) used all concepts from starfox 2, only some parts (like starfox 64 with all-range mode etc). I think that Miyamoto was crazy that time, because... not releasing this is totally insane! *Waiting for the 3ds version of starfox 64 :)

  • @daikenoh jeah. Lylatwars (Star Fox 64 in Europe) Was the best.. i even play it today. Its a great game. :3

  • No.. your not the only. I have buyd starwing/fox 1 for snes yesterday. I wish. they have released this...

  • 19:07 Miyu: This is pointless! we have to get inside.

I reckon the King Dodora could be the switch for getting into the base.

  • this should be "wii" released on virtual console

  • I love how a 16-bit console can run 3D Polygons

  • I'm amazed how many features from Starfox 64 were already implemented into this game, like the charge-up laser that locks onto targets. Cool video! It is a shame they didn't release it, but I guess all the focus was on the N64 at the time.

  • 1:23 Fox:What what what?*makes face XD* [thumbs up]

  • The only thing I can't take seriously in this game is when the arwing starts walking. That's just funny.

  • This is probably the only thing I don't like about the Nintendo 64 is that they didn't work on this while people were still working on the Nintendo 64. Oh well, only if someone could take a snes cart and put the game rom on the cart and play it on the snes and sell it. Then everyone could enjoy this game.

  • starfox 2 = starfox command that wasnt released. love the game though

  • I like starfox graphics better than newer, high quality ones, 'cuz it lets you pay more attention to the game, and I don't want to see every pimple on Andross' cbernetic face-thing.

  • reminds me of the n.gin boss in crash 2 especially the sounds and the music when you fight Andross, definitely

  • they should make this a downloadible game on the wii

  • @jubjub444 The game will never be released because it's a cancelled game.

  • @grassdancer2000 You dont know that. Someday Nintendo might reconsider and decide to recreate this game for the Wii or DS.
