Please don't disturb the peace we have now in Singapore. Our ECONOMY is doing well..Do we want to be another middle east country where there is uprising and CHAOS?
think this is pasar malam, wa pian, so pitiful, trying to make yourself so pitiful, well, singaporean are not blind . Vote for the PAP - boleh tahan, well if you vote the oppostion like this asshole in the video , then its tak boleh tahan - ok sir
Very Soon more youngsters who reach started work and face society will become SDP Supporters. Look at the SDP Supporters, 80% are early 20s to late 30s and also the educated 40s and 50s.
i think that life can get better if SDP was the next ruling party, not PAP,but all PAP is going to do is bribe the fellow citizens and make them vote for them. Tak Boleh Tahan lah PAP haha :)
I guess he has a point and is trying his best to make people see. Theres no harm in giving him a chance to point out his view maybe he can put more suggestions and views in the net instead of just shooting lee
i admire the proactive stance of chee soon juan in our politically ad naseum obedient society and i urge all of you to see the underlying issues he is trying to represent instead of taking things at face value. He is a bright man with an illuminating vision for future singapore and i believe he can and will do good for us if given the chance unthwarted by our current gahmen. i for one believe in this guy and his hopes for a truly democratic society.
if u guys can realli be a leader u guys wont be talking bad abt another party.. instead show us wat u can do to build a better singapore.. that's wat pap did... that's a very simple logic and that show u guys are not capable of being a leader, not talking about building singapore...
freedom of speech... talk about wat u guys can do do build better singapore.. not criticizing other parties..
know whats retarded here? sure, people sign the petitions and buy their shirts and badges but when it comes to speaking up for themselves they keep quiet and obey the government. singapore is sad.
I agree though some will sign petitions because the onus is upon the people who started the rally/petition. But they are afraid of being criminalised and jailed. So they hang their hands down and stare the floor when it comes to speaking up. This attitude is being ingrained since we're born. I'm 17 years old and at my age I am burdened with my responsiblity, (to get a post secondary education) I am gripped by the echelons of the social heirarchy. Honestly what can I do?
Granted, my generation are more open-minded and have a greater tendancy to object to what they deem as unsatisfactory But in the political sense? I'm not sure. My peers take everything on face value, they are more interested in living their life. They are not interested in their society, they would rather care about their own needs. I mean honestly do you think they would go through all the trouble to step-up? I'm disgusted by their self-centred attitudes short sightedness and stupidity atleast
Their intelligence is limited to academic learning. They don't have the community spirit or the desire to make a change. But thats not completely their fault, its what we the youth have been told to do so. Its always the smarter ones that realise we're living in a gilded cage. But unfortunely there are not many brave ones amongst the smart ones. This country breeds realists. And we cannot afford a living without education and we have a very high standard of education here. I as a secondary ---
school student have only one thing on my mind: school. I simply cannot afford the time to be politically active or even informed for that matter. On a side note, Singapore is what it is because of LKY. I would rather have this place the way it is than to give up my freedom of speech. And we are all indebt to him for what he has done to this country, a first world cosmopolitan and meritocratic nation.
they are speaking publicly and doing business without paying any rental. aren't they robbing business from those shopkeepers who legally paid rentals?
huh? Ive read most the comments here and nobody has any nationalistic views. Were talking about Singapore and not China, Malaysia or a certain state in Southern India.
When a man has been robbed of his voice, would he able to speak? If he's foundation is shattered into pieces, can he stand and be seen? And wouldn't the constant dissapointment in unfair treatment crush him? He has gone through suffering not known to the common person. I admire a strong spirit when I see one, because it's very rare in this world today. Ask your self this, given a voice, money, and time, do you think an ex NUS professor will have absolutely nothing good to say? I beg to differ.
do u know what young children do to get attention? Doing undesirable acts, even when they know it will get them in trouble... n they'll do it again n again n again... i wouldn't call that strong spirit....
What is the objective of SDP? Speak for the people? Why didnt you sit and listen to the people first? Why did you walk away Dr Chee? You highlighted the raising cost, so please tell us what will be your strategies in countering globalisation. WE NEED A GOVERNMENT THAT LEADS NOT A GOVERNMENT THAT IS BEING LEAD.

this should be the real opposition. look at america. then compare them with us. and singapore wants to be a first world country?

true opposition = responsible opposition, not just making baseless claims n personality attacks. if we have opposition like chee in power, huh huh...

You can see very clearly how Singaporeans react to Dr Chee's plea.
All of them are oblivious to what has been happening around them.
So sad!

chee has none. he's doing it for the sake of humilating the gov, disregarding the laws and embarrassing the entire nation.
chee is clueless to the solution or coming up any alternative solutions to the problems he loudhailed about.
