Im dual booting linux and xp KiarFuZzy so im not really missing out. Erictanguay you need to set up a grub when you install Ubuntu so you can switch between the 2.
The effects are wiked but you will not have time to enjoy them because in linux constantly brakes something and needs fixing ... And after a while you will get bored of the effects and will start to miss the software you use in windows and is not availible on linux ... So my opinion is to stick with windows ...
I've never really used linux to drive a car so it's never "braked" anything. But if you mean it breaks, I've never had so much as a segfault on my desktop :)
you won't miss xp software in ubuntu because there are many softwares coming up in ubuntu which are as good as their windows counterparts if not better. And for those windows softwares that don't work in ubuntu, you can make them work by using softwares like wine, cedega, crossover.
im gonna see if i can run ubuntu on a vpc o.o
