maybe there's a consummate arranger out there who can help me. i've got a song with a blues shuffle (in C) but major chords don't sound right with the vocal melody, i have to just use a 2 note shuffle. any idea what chords i should consider? i've tried C major, A minor, E minor, C7 ...i can't seem to find the full chord that is implied by the melody. not sure if one can offer suggestions without hearing, but any ideas? thanks, really!
Such an excellent and concise lesson...no bullshit, no-'uhh-it's kinda like, uuhh...' really cool and informative lesson...and I've already been playin' for a while...cheers!
You can do it. Just keep trying, or just do it in the open position. I personally prefer the open position, because there seems to be more you can do. As in hammer ons and pull offs.
Great blues lesson.

could try c maj7 but that has more of a jazzy sound, maybe a c6 could fit in. could try cminor7, not sure if you're piece is in c major or minor

a boogie woogie type feel.... technicality takes away from music (not perfection but technical obsession)

start by practicing at the 5 or 7 fret, it'll be easier, then gradually move up.
