  • hats off to liz. interesting comment Shum. Lush and Cranes tidied me over during

the fallow Cocteau years of the early nineties.as for before i think the only good bands

were those Liz collaborated with. Primitive Painters should really be on these lists

as its one of her most passionate pieces.[feltwithfeeling]

  • @posypity Loved her work with Felt too, my fave being the

mighty "Primitive Painters"hope you enjoyed the video to that

mix I did, many thanks for taking time out to comments on all

these videos my friend, much appreciated XxX ;)

  • I could be wrong, but I was into all kinds of stuff in the 80s, and I never heard anything like this until about 1990, when Lush came along. I always thought that the CT's were totally original. Blew my mind then, still does.

  • @callmecorey66 Hi there, your so right they were original, I still

have this on tape from back in the day from the MM magazine,

It does indeed still blow the mind, good days, good music my friend :)

  • Love this one :)

  • @Z0liveR Hi there, its an early classic dont hear it to often,

I remember buying the NME with this on the compilation long ago,

the Cocteau's sound just blew me away, thanks Z0liveR :)

  • Wow, now this song reminds me of the Winter Formal Dance in High School!!! I was wondering if I would get my first kiss. Silly me, I didn't know that guys were supposed to make the first move.

  • @vaqardi Ha-ha, sounds like you had fun my friend, as long as you got that first

kiss, what does it matter who made the first move. :D

  • This is the Shit means that I enjoyed the song very much

  • @cavemantelevision1 Just been laughing my head of m8, sorry I'm not really up

on todays lingo lol, I know sick is good, cheers for that, still laughing m8 :)

  • This is the Shit

  • @cavemantelevision1 Hi there, sorry you didnt enjoy this my friend, guess we cant all

like the same music, cheers for your comments m8 :)

  • Pandora minds the shop? It is about a hat shop I suppose! Anyhow, it is surely a gem.

  • @Eurotrousers Hi there, its funny but in many CTs songs, Liz placed links to

many of her songs via names, and carried the theme into another song, cool.

Your so right a gem for sure my friend, have a great weekend. :)

  • i dont know to which milli she is singing to, but this is my song!

  • @mildredwinter Ha-ha to you of course my friend, cool comment...!! :D

  • @thomasmoredamian Hi there, their is indeed magic in the world my friend... :)

  • One of my favorite Cocteau Twins songs! If you love Liz, Robin, and Simon and would like to hear a new band with an ethereal sound, listen to Autumn's Grey Solace. Hope you enjoy!

  • @Cragiesea Hi there, glad this is a fave song of yours my friend, love Autumns-

Grey Solace too, a friend told me about them the other year, many thanks for the tip,

  • @4ADBear Hi there my friend, you may well be right, it was included on a compilation tape-

for the NME before being released on vinyl, a classic for sure....!!! :))

  • Going to do a project on CT for my school.

V hard to find pictures of them live but I'm trying! You inspire me, Shum (:

back all those memories, glad your still enjoying their brilliant music.

Good to hear from you my friend...!!!

  • Great work shum65 ! C T is not only beautifull but it sounds also like a tribute to my celtic European ancestry which does not get enough attention by anglo saxons especially here in US.Some songs sound like they are soundtracks to the movie Braveheart ! I love it !!!!! Thanks !!!

  • @toddshere Many thanx my friend, I think your right, many of Lizs

amazing vocals have that beautiful Celtic sound to them, I too love

all things Celtic or Gaelic, glad you enjoyed this classic Todd.....!!

Love this track too, always good to hear from ya, :-{)

  • The Pink Opaque was the first CD I ever owned.I remember playing it to my Mum and Dad.They just didn't get it! Made me love the Cocteau Twins even more! (If that's possible)

  • @66garland

Bless you, though I'm sure I recall that CD's were widely available soon after, I recall

buying my first copy of the "Pink Opaque" on cassette and playing in the first

car I was able to buy myself, a 1985 Volkswagen Scirocco! Times past!!!

    Cheers!

    Blaine

  • @66garland Hiya my friend, your so right, its cool when parents

dont get a totally new and unique sound, it makes both the band

and you feel extra special, which the Cocteau Twins truly are....

Great to hear from ya 66garland..cool name 2....!!!

  • Very lovely. Exquisite song, it reminds me of The Goonies for some reason. Caves, treasure and beauty.

  • @qiay Hi their my friend, its great to hear from you, I hope all is good

with you, thats a good point about this amazing song reminding you

of the Goonies, certainly I too can see caves, treasure, and beauty..

    Have a lovely Sunday qiay.......!!!

  • E F 290864 - dm as mine

  • @youser379 Cheers my friend.......

  • i was sixteen when i heard this on a bootleg tape on my walkman (those were the early 80s days) its a beautiful track, time has not diminished this wonderful record '.some things are timeless

  • @jasefrazz07 Hi Their my friend, your so right about time not-

diminishing this amazing track, its timeless indeed...

Oh to be back in those early 80s days my friend...!!

Good to hear from you, have a fab weekend.....

  • I have "The Pink Opaque" record and I love how it plays so much like a regular album. I also laugh at my aunt who has been a huge Cocteau Twins since she was a teenager since she never found this record in stores! She never even thought I would get into this kind of music.

  • @squishyoprahtacohair Hi their, its an amazing track isnt it.....

Your aunt must be really glad your a Cocteaus fan too...

I got "The Pink Opaque" on CD, many years ago now,

but never on vinyl, its really good to hear from you my friend..

    Keep on enjoying the music......

  • As a kid in my teens than 20s during the 80s I had never heard anything as shockingly

beautiful as Elizabeth Fraziers' voice let alone Robin Guthries' entirely unique

base. Truth be told there hasn't been anything like it since

  • @blainebill39 I love what you said my friend, it was that vocal style from Liz and those amazing guitar riffs that first got me hooked too, so unique and iconic.....

Wished they would get back together again, you never know m8.......

  • @blainebill39 You're so right.I miss them so much it still hurts

  • @66garland

Take heart my friend! The "Cocteau Twins" have a very large catalogue

that has been dutifuly archived, right here on YT! The younger generations

have been expressing an interest in Elizabeth Frasers' cover of "Song to the

Siren" because it was part of the soundtrack of the film " The Lovely Bones"!

Just imagine what they'll experience when they become exposed the main body

    of the "Twins" work!

    Cheers!

    Blaine

its great hearing from you in Chile..!!

Best wishes to everyone their, from us here in the UK...!!

  • I wonder. They may not care; feeling they can't make exceptions anywhere, even for a group that broke up a decade ago, and even though, many of the people enjoying these vids may already own the original recordings, in at least one format (or three!) Or that there may be some who don't own any CT recordings, but are so impressed they will make a genuine purchase in one format or another.

  • WARNER are scum,as are youtube..!!! They both are murdering my channel... Neither has any rights on the Cocteau's music..at least I have the backing from Simon from the band!! they have none.!! SHAME ON YOU LOW LIFE MONEY MEN! Remember what enjoyment is? I very much doubt it children...!! Sorry about that bobbs, but I,m pissed off! Unlike WARNER/Youtube,I do this for free Can they say the same..!!!
  • Well, shum, you know I've been a bit "out-of-touch" with some areas of the news, anyway, but I wasn't aware of any Warner connection to CT music, if that is what is going on here. I may be missing something obvious.

  • Consideing the group is:

"...home to a collection of the best-known record labels in the music industry including

Asylum, Atlantic, Bad Boy, Cordless, East West, Elektra, Maverick, Nonesuch, Reprise, Rhino, Roadrunner, Rykodisc, Sire, Warner Bros. and Word."

    Funny how they left out:

"We're also known to sabotage some of our artists by behaving inconsiderately towards the kindest efforts produced by their fans".

  • Tell it like it is, LunaSeasane!!! Sabotage is the perfect word for it, and inconsiderate is almost an understatement. And, if I may add, all this conglomeration often serves to stifle creativity that once was possible when the labels were truly independent. It would seem the Mega-Label wants to stifle any fan creativity, too. Is there no way around it?

  • I agree totally with both my fab friends...

    Bobbs and Luna....!!!!

They put it much better than me!

Thanks for your articulate words indeed.!!

  • Comment removed

  • If there are enough complaints directed at WMG (Warner Music Group) expressing concern that their actions may be seriously compromising the position Cocteau Twins have attained in the music industry, maybe they'll start thinking straight.

  • Shum, thanx for sending this - I'd missed it the first time 'round. It's a very classy job for a classic song! Sorry to learn of the most recent attack from the WarnerWaffen, on your "Hitherto" vid. I really feel for you, after putting in all that work. I hope you get to post it somewhere, sometime soon, for us all to appreciate. Your Friend, Bob

  • I,m pleased you like this fab song bobbs Yeah..I was really disappointed about my video for "Hitherto-live version" already - getting blocked before it had even gone - out live..!!! I was quite pleased with it to.!! The video that is... I tried again today..same result.BLOCKED Their has been a whisper that WARNER- have no rights to the Cocteau's music!!! We,ll have to see.... Thanks dear bobbs!!!!
  • I adore this song! Dear Friend thank You for all these beautiful gifts! :)

  • Your very welcome lot..!!,its not a song you

hear very often....it really takes me back!!

    Love-it to bits....!!!

Thanks for your kind words my friend..!!!

  • Milli-mille-millenary, just waits for you to hurt her, Pandora missed her shot.

  • Hi bijeto, fantastic words indeed!!!Luv-it!!

  • Great song , please Cocteau twins can you join again and start shows around the world??!!!!

  • Thanks my friend! I agree with you!!!!

I wished the Cocteau twins would re-form!!!

  • G R E A T song! I buyed this NME tape in my 2nd London visit a lot of years ago... 5

  • Thanks friend!!! glad its one of your faves!!

  • When this recording was just out, I had a fashion designer friend who liked to believe Liz was singing about hats with this song. She didn't like it when I pointed out that the band spelled the title "millimillenary", potentially meaning thousands of millenia, instead of "millimillinery", thousands of hats. She loved the song anyway.

  • Thanks for ya comment mate!!

    Enjoyed reading it!!made me laugh!!!!!!

    Cheers for that!!

  • Great video... Love your works ! Thanks
