  • tight dog you know come to think of it i think i pasted that guy playin on 42nd street he got a pile of money then. ya i live in new york city on 42nd street and i just love it here.

  • This... is... AWESOME!!!!!!!!! This IS because talented people don't get famous anymore. They just get ignored, sadly.

  • voodoo chile!

  • good job buddy

  • Lol. Hendrix on bass. I love it!

  • @MrVapomann : Don't waste your time on that guy, guitarstyle669. Most likely just some jealous jerk off. I'm not offended because i know what I do and how much work and accuracy it involves.

  • Some one please message me about nice bass songs ! like this ,

i find it hard to find them .. :(

  • a 6 string bass is like a dislexic version of a 6string guitar. Less accuracy required to pull off the same kinda melody.

  • @guitarstyles669 you are an idiot

  • @pawnshopr : With regards to Mr. guitarstyles669, I totally agree!

  • @guitarstyles669 : Considering that the 4 middle strings of a 6 string bass are the same as the lower 4 strings of a guitar it is conceivable that melodies played on both instruments would require the same amount of accuracy 'to pull off,' as you so eloquently put. Or is that too much for you?

  • he's good ;P I hope that one day I ll be as good as he is ;P

    Larry, you kick ass ;P

  • Dude thats some sick ass jimi right there...

  • what is the opening riff

  • @WiiGamerof1995 : If you're asking about what I played in the first five seconds it's just some stuff off the top of my head in preparation. Basically a fast variation on the actual opening riff of Voodoo Chile.

  • Outstanding! You could have played with Jimi!

  • AWESOME!

  • that's somethin i can groove on

  • that was nice man!

  • Fantastic.

  • dude u rock Larry.

  • LOVE this bass playa!

  • i think he is playing voodoo chile by hendrix

    right?

  • @strikeout1991

Voodoo child by jiimy herndrix... bass only...

  • @mb005428

    yes i know

  • @wmdbassplayer

not all of us have the privaledge to go to school thank you and im tired of this lets just agree to disagree and never speak again

  • Hey Larry keep us all posted on the new project. Hope all is well. Peace.

  • @wmdbassplayer

and i was giving you a compliment and you attack me? shows less of my ego and more of yours :/ plus if you think my name is missleading you must not have watched many vids and looked at the compliments serriously if you think my name is the most misleading one on youtube, then you havnt been looking that well for them

  • @Beast6Of6Bass6: Seems I struck a nerve! Let me see if I got this right: you watch my video and say "this is gay" with no reasoning to support what you say. I call you out on this and you say you were not being insulting. I say the same thing to you with some reasoning behind it and you say I'm attacking you. Dude, get your head out your of ass and into the books you ignored when you should have been in school. Improve your language skills, people skills and musicianship.

  • @wmdbassplayer

lolz i didnt write it seth did and i know you dont know who seth is but either way your right and im sorry for naming myself something i thought sounded cool damn well anyway ive only been playing for a year so ofcourse im no les claypool or alex webster but im one of the only dudes from around here who can play with his fingers but anyway my egos not all that big ive been told but your opinion is yours to believe so go ahead and mock me

  • @Beast6Of6Bass6 You shouldn't let other people make fucked up comments under your name and leave you to deal with the backlash. You should also learn to take responsiblity for your own stupid words and actions. And with the 'tis ish ghey' crap, I don't know if you were trying to be witty, or if you're dyslexic or you just genuinely can't spell.

  • @wmdbassplayer

understood keep keep on with the groove my friend

  • @wmdbassplayer

lolz your right i am very jealous thatz y i wrote that you are skilled my friend i wasnt insulting you i was insulting the fact you could whoop my ass on this instrument

  • @Beast6Of6Bass6: funny way of not being insulting. Fortunately, I'm of a stonger emotional constitution and have a deep understanding of people. Instead of being jealous, work toward perfecting your craft and be the best you can be with the understanding that there will always be some better, some not as good and some equal to yourself.

  • okay.. that was good. haha. more than that. you and your 6 string bass rock hard.

  • i think hendrix is over rated, but this shit goes hard man,you got my respect as a bassist

  • @17bassg over rated?

    How so?

  • @17bassg: You have your right to your opinion, but there are many who will disagree with you. While what Hendrix did some consider just noise, it was beautiful, intricate, controlled noise. That's what, in my opinion, separates true gifted playing from just plugging in a stomp box, cranking to '11' and just wailing. Go to any music store in the world and that's mostly what you'll see in the guitar section.

  • who in their right mind would consider hendrix's stuff as noise?

i mean he is clearly playing MUSIC, what's noisy about that?

  • tis ish ghey

  • @Beast6Of6Bass6 What does that mean? Were you trying to write 'This is gay"? First, learn to spell; second explain what's gay about this. Or are you just jealous because I play better than you?

  • @wmdbassplayer, fuck that guy, this rocks. Got me to re-discover my interest in JImi. Nice work on this. I'm learning to play Purple Haze now.

Also, Kudos for playing Ibanez. I got an SR 506 recently, and it's a beast of an instrument.

Keep rocking, hopefully more of your playing will make it's way onto youtube.

  • @undeadkoala (!?!): Thanks for that. I have some promo vids I did with a new band and am waiting for permission to post them. When I get that, I'll drop you a note. Peace.

  • Can't wait. By the way, love the story about how you got your "World's most dangerous Bass player" tag. Brilliant, anyway, Subbed!

  • @Beast6Of6Bass6: Sitting on your bed in a tank top, in front of a camcorder, playing stuff that shows your ego greatly outweighs your talent and calling yourself by a prententious name that implies you're much better than you are, now TIS ISH GHEY!!!

  • u a rly rly rly good bass player wish i lived in new york :(

  • Just wonderin''' if there's anyone in particular you mentor as a bassist? maybe.........

Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clark......Bootsey?

  • how 'bout that fresh face of....... Tal Wilkenfeld?

  • @Hazafi4life: Mostly Stanley, Bootsey, Alphonso Johnson, Larry Graham, Louis Johnson. Not in any particular order. There are many more.

  • this dude is sick! but he needs to stay up high more because that was amazing!!

  • I smell Marcus Miller!!

  • @jazerito And I smell a little Jimmy Hendrix's Vodoo Child too.

  • Someone get this guy a gig, or an endorsement, or a record deal, or at least a nice hug from someone for being so damn good.

  • 6 string bassguitar *-* you play very good

  • its because good people don't get famous any more

  • that's so true!!!

  • Thanks for the love, DANizDAN, but at 47 years old, I say I'm too old for fame. I just want steady work doing what I love to make a comfortable living for me and my daughter.

  • Voodoo Child Slight return :D:D

  • i play bass. i love it. bass gives a song its feeling.

  • Most people hate bass cause it sound dull and emotionless and but this guy added flaver to mix. Is sound badass.

  • Dull and emotionless? -_-. Also @danizdan alot of street performers are 100 times better then bands, idk why alot of them arent famous :/

  • you should check out john entwhistle (sp?) of The Who. Not called thunder fingers for nothing

  • There are a lot of bass players out there that I'm hip to even though I don't mention them. Entwhistle was one of the most boring guys to watch play, but man, he would lay down some serious, killer shit!!!

  • i want to play bass

  • This guy needs put o put out a cd or sumthin cuz this is amazin.

  • wooo love it

  • That is really awesome... And no one seems to care over there. xD

  • voodoo chile!

every one must know this classic hendrix song

  • wow... amazing, 5/5.

  • this is reeally good!!

  • You mean that there are no subway performers in England? That bites! Now I have to cancel my travel plans! (lol) Thanks for the love.

  • Man, this is the best played version of Voodo Child!!! BASS MAN!!!

  • I luvs the Voodoo Child. Keep up the good work bruv!

  • what the hell is this, speeds up? no groove? you can see hes into it, if you're playing and enjoying it then theres groove! and you can definitely tell hes enjoying playing it!

  • I've read some of your comments on other music videos and while you are entitled to you opinion, you seem to be very narrow minded and, dare I say, ignorant.

  • Also, again to hmodzel, what do you mean by "too many sounds" and please, point out the exact points where I speed up.

  • Style, the music, the look. Awesome!

  • AWESOME! That's the best damn version I've heard of "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" since Jimi did it on Woodstock of '69

  • slap voodoo shild! fucking awesome!

  • Duuuuudeee

  • Thats Awsome! :-)

  • Guys like this one fit into concerts not subways

  • WOW unbelivevable i cant even spell good job !

  • voodoo child is jimi's best song in my opinion

  • That is AWSOME!!!!!!

  • I'm surprised your not famous

  • wicked.

  • roland has a 4x5 battery powered amp made for bass out now for anyone wanting to play bass on the street

  • limeyamos, I checked out the Roland Cube for bass and personally I don't think it has enough power for street performing. It's cool if you just want to jam on the go or maybe if you live somewhere where you don't have to compete with traffic or subway noise. But I must admit that this is based on me playing through one in the store. I did like the built in effects and amp simulators.

  • did you check out the Roland MICRO CUBE BASS RX, because that is different than the regular micro cube, it has more power and uses four 4" or 5" speakers made for bass amplification.

  • A 115 combo amp and a car battery and a power inverter would be your best bet if you really need wireless power for street performing.

  • Limeyamos, I considered that setup early on but decided against it because the weight factor.

  • Is it possible to play this on 4-String bass?

I mean do you even use the B and C String for this Song or would it work with a little more shifting.

  • I can play it on a 4 string, look up guitar tabs and transfer it to the 4 strings on bass.

  • you can play it on an any string.

  • It can be played on a 4 string but the opening will be all the way down on the bottom of the G string. It might be more comfortable to play the intro an octave lower on a 4 string.

  • hey thank you for your tip. I still have some problems working the guitar tab into a bass tab, if i ever finish this work i will write here where to find it.

  • To rxtypez: don't be lazy! Screw the TAB system and learn how to read real music. Concentrate on learning your basic theory and chord building and as long as you know the changes of a tune and the general feel, you can get away with not reading actual notes but at least learn to read a lead sheet.

  • brilliant. :)

  • HOT SHIT RIGHT HERE!!!

  • awesome!

  • awesome cover of hendrix's voodoo child

  • SICK!!!

  • That is the coolest and most inventive cover of Voodoo Chile I have ever heard. That is just the coolest.

  • Very nice!!!

  • I can dig this. You have my respect.

  • This guy is awesome. He deserves fame.

  • Thanks, dude, but at 45 years old I no longer want fame, I just want constant work and the respect of my fellow musicians.

  • weird....a bass with 6 strings i thot basses only have 4 strings

  • i see 5.

  • okei nevermind its 6.. lol

  • Its 6 strings...

  • most have 4... but they also come in 5, 6, and even 12 string flavors

  • i think basses can have 4,5,6 and 11 strings

  • and 1 string lol

  • U didn't know they could have that many...?

  • this is incredibly good, i can't believe these people are playing on the streets!
