A1. these are pre-stored / programmed routes in the FMC, used by airliners for frequent routes. So pilots do not enter plans again and again
A2. It is the alternate Destination airport ,incase of Diversion. This is required to calculate fuel to reach ALTN
A3. There are different navigation RF devices ,like generally NDB (5 letters) , VOR (3 letters) and Airports (4 letters). These are defined by ICAO or IATA. It is independent of the Aircraft manufacturer.
Very good job but in not correct flow. The mos important thing in this chapter is that you should not set STAB TRIM with Alternate Pitch Trim Levers , you have to use Pitch Trim Switches on control wheel column. It is so important because it overrides all pitch and trim commands.
On the ground, both the control wheel trim switches and alt pitch trim levers move the stabilizer directly so either can be used to set takeoff trim. During flight, the control wheel switches are used to change the trim reference airspeed (but does not move the stabilizers directly unless in secondary or direct mode).
This is a great series, thanks! One question: why does the ECS data disappear from the (lower left and center of the) upper EICAS the moment one activates a flightplan in the FMC? Is this supposed to happen or is it a glitch ?
Nah...you can name it anything you want :) The company route (in this case) is a route I saved into the CDU previously. See the company route tutorial video.
it seems PSS 777 FMC is kinda flawed in calculating takeoff speeds... i tried to fly from EGKK to RPLL in a 777-300ER.. ZFW is around 418,563 lbs.. set fuel load at around 80%..
set flaps at 20... and the weird is that it gave me V1-155kts, Vr-158kts, and V2-169 kts...
It's not perfect e.g. not all FMC functions are present, TO/GA implementation is flawed and behavior at top of descent is unrealistic (see the part 5 video) but on the whole it's a pretty good simulation of the 777.
Please can you upload a tutorial which demonstrates how to create a new flightplan, save it, and name it as a company route. I tried as you suggested to lomac011's question but I'm still confused. Also, what is the VNAV page about?
You simply select an existing FS9 flightplan and save it into the FMC with your choice of name (can be anything). in your case, use the FS9 planner to create a WSSS-WMKK flight plan, then select that in the FMC and save it.
At 1:37,my plane do not function when i follow you.Its just is diff.I type SINKUL01 yours have WSSS to WMKK but mine does not. After manually typing it in,the other step it was not the same as well.
It's a value used to determine the cost of flying the route. The FMC will use that to determine cruising speed, etc. The higher the value, the shorter but more expensive the flight becomes due to increased fuel use.
The company route was a FS flightplan that was loaded earlier (from a previous flight) and saved into the FMC using the 'save' command which you can see after activating and executing the route.
I've never heard of V! :D
Just kidding.

Q1 what is a company route?

Q3 I know that the waypoints contain 5 letters, but actually I saw some way points in Boieng FMC and Airbus contain 3 letters or 4 ?? why??

great video! just a question, how can I know my company route? why sinkul01?

@JKostlin
It's a route I pre-programmed into the FMC. See the company route tutorial video on my channel.

How do u set to type with KB in FMC??
Thank you!
Dundullla 1 year ago
@Dundullla
Click on the bottom right corner of the CDU screen. A gray box with "KB" will appear. Now you can type FMC entries using the keyboard.

You can do this from the VC, because I am not really a fan of 2D panels

The PSS is the best for now. Rumors have it that PMDG is working on a 777 as well, but nothing concrete.

Do you know how to configure the fmc of 777 PSS on the cdu II panel of vrinsight ?

Unfortunately no, I don't have that panel.

That sounds about right. The a/c is pretty heavy with the fuel load so the speeds you obtained are quite normal.
jimfwh 2 years ago
This looks pretty decent. Are there any bugs or issues with this aircraft?

Go to RTE 1 page 2 and enter under the 'via' and 'to' fields.

Hi Can you explain to me what ` step size` means?
spongebobbignob 2 years ago
See here:
wikipedia(dot)org/wiki/Step_climb
Step size simply means the height used to climb for each step.

I've done that. The video is titled "B777 tutorial: Company route".
jimfwh 2 years ago
But i was flying the same place you are going.Does that mean that the company route changes?

What does cost index mean?
gozziguy 2 years ago
It's a value used to determine the cost of flying the route. The FMC will use that to determine cruising speed, etc. The higher the value, the shorter but more expensive the flight becomes due to increased fuel use.

And how do you know what your SID is?
lomac011 2 years ago
Check the AIP for the country (if available), or look at the SID charts and choose one that best matches your departure direction.

I don't use RTE 2. All route programming is done on RTE 1

Sorry i mean Co route and the names of all of that...

It should come bundled with the PSS777, together with a fuel planner.

Check your Start menu All Programs-->Just Flight-->777 Professional folder.
