  • Nice job dide.

  • @BIGestBUCK thanks man. good to hear from ya.

  • What about that Father son 8 point you had last year??

  • @schunts09 that wasn't me, i just filmed my friends deer. it was shot on the land we lease in orangeburg county. i tell you what though, it's time to be in the woods! i sat yesterday after work at the house. i had 3 deer(pretty sure they were bucks) run right behind me on the same trail. they were going too fast and it was too thick to get a good luck at them. they had to been chasing or trailing a hot doe. me and the kid are gonna sit in a ground blind this evening where they were crossing.

  • Man I almost missed this video but I just came accross it on Josh's page. Videos in my sub box just seem to come and go without clickin anything. Great job on the doe! Looks like you're in a nice place there in the swamp. Good luck with them hogs and watch out for that lighting whoa!

  • @AntiHuntersLoveMe thanks cory! yeah, i think i'm at my sub limit, it's getting hard to keep up with vids. lol, i think the thunderstorm season is over. my land is dry now and it hasn't rained in over 2 weeks. good luck in the woods man!

  • Good job craig!! I got me a doe during muzzel loader season an tried to get it on film but she had me all bent out of shape!! Good work on the video a the deer!!

  • @TheSimpleMan81 thanks adam! congrats on getting a deer! i hear ya on the filming deal. i sat with my bow a couple weeks ago at my lease and had 5 does within 15 yards and was trying to get the shot on film and they finally spooked. shoulda just shot!

  • That's a big thumbs up from the Show Me State, Craig! She'll definitely eat good, my fellow outdoorsman. Congrats! That's pretty cool having a spot to hunt behind your house. Do you own a bunch of acreage or a small tract? Sorry to hear about the tree. I hope it's safe for ya.

  • @OutdoorsmanByDesign thanks matt! i wish i owned a larger tract of land but it's only 21acres. i have taken 2 does from here and 3 hogs. haven't seen any bucks i'd like to take yet. there are other hunters surrounding me and a dog hunting club real close too. from what i've seen, they don't let bucks walk.

  • @fracwilt

Wow! 21 acres! How cool is that? I would dearly love to be able to move out of the city, but it's not going to happen anytime soon. It's really hard to stretch your wings on a city sized lot. LOL! Are you in a rural area or is it more suburban? I'll tell ya what, Craig, land prices are so high in my neck of the woods, I'd have to drive a couple hours just to get close to something I might "eventually" consider.

  • Man Craig, I thought you were covered up with water last year too, but I think it be easier to drag em out since they would float, haha!! Good thing you were'nt in that tree when it got struck by lightning.

What an awesome view from that tree stand!! That little view you gave us really showed what a neat lookin spot that is!! Great job on this video Craig, and congrats on feedin your family...that un is gonna eat good!!

A big giant thumbs up....for sure!!

    Robert

  • @LoneStarCreekRanch thanks robert! lol, i actually did "float" her most of the way out of there, it was pretty easy. we've already had a couple meals from this meat, it's not going to last long!

  • Wet as hell! That lightning sure blew the bark off that tree! BAng! I'm guesing hog down! Oh, a doe...meat in the freezer!

  • @dnahoghunter thanks darak! i wish that hog would show up. he ate a bag and a half of corn in 2 nights. he won't come around during shooting light.

  • @fracwilt Hunt him at night or get the other land owners permission and trail him. Water doesnt help tho.

  • @dnahoghunter it's dry now D. i think i may take a metal rod and weld it to a bolt, then i could hose clamp my flashlight to it and screw it into my bow. what color light is less likely to spook him?

  • @fracwilt red is best. Check out my how to hog light. You can make a plastic mount and screw it in under you quiver mount.

  • Nice Hunt!

  • @schunts09 thanks man! now i can focus on a buck, lol, not that there's any around here.

  • You have a great hunting spot the fracwilt

  • @rickeyparker thanks rickey! the water comes and goes, i like it when it's dry.

  • good deal on the doe Craig! thats pretty wild with the tree being struck by lighting.did it do anything to the stand? congrats on the doe and great vid!!

    james

  • @BOHEMIANHUNTINGCLUB thanks james. lol, honestly i don't even know, i guess i oughta check before i go to sit in it. damn skeeters will eat you alive now if you do anything other than run through the woods. can't wait for some cold weather to kill them things!

  • i hear ya! i was sitting in the stand earlier, got ate up! lol!! had the hogs get close, figure if im still at home tomorrow, ill check cameras and see what time they're coming in and try after them again.

  • That looked like a great hunt. Hope you had your rubber boots on. I like that swampy stuff. I can always visualize a big ol mossy back sloshin through the woods.

  • @TXBucksnort lol, oh yeah, knee high's. still got my feet wet draggin her out. i've never seen or had a picture of a buck larger than a 2.5 year old 7pt on this land. been there 4 years, haven't shot or shot at any buck yet. i drool when i see bucks on film like what you got runnin around! thanks and good luck on gettin that muy grande.

  • hey Craig, congrats on the doe! love having meat in the freezer...man I didn't think about all the water and how hard that would be to track if you didn't have a good idea where she had gone down...anyways, good luck on the rest of your season!

  • @mnjbooth thanks matt. yeah, i lost a deer last year back there. i couldn't find any blood, you can see why, lol. it's dry again, so i'm going to try with the bow, if a buck or pig shows up. you been hunting yet? haven't heard anything since those game camera pics you posted.

  • @fracwilt yeah Craig, we are almost to the end of soccer season, so my time is coming....I coach one of my girl's teams so it's hard to get away right now....soon

  • Congrats craig, that looks like the place I hunt, wonder if your spikes brought the lightening into that tree?? I'd be long gone next time it rains

  • @THEHOGZONE thanks richard, yeah i remember your hog vids from last year, looked like you were hunting on a river! most of the trees on my land are pretty small, i have a few tall pines that seem to attract lightening. the top was blown out of this tree a couple weeks before i put this stand up. now that it's dry again, i'm gonna sit that stand, unless the tree dies or it floods again.

  • Hell yea man good eatin right there!!Im glad to see someone else with flooded woods like we got!Shes a nice one buddy!!Can you beleave we get 10 doe tags and it doe day everyday??Only two buck a year one can be any size and the other has to have at least four points on one side so basiclly the other buck has to be a eight point!Good job man!!! Faved!!

  • @MrGETitGOTit thanks josh! if it wasn't for doe tags i'd probably rarely shoot a deer. don't always get to hunt on doe days, which is on saturdays in oct and nov. i wish we had some buck limits like that. mature bucks are rare, especially on my land, there's a dog club real close and i'm surrounded by other hunters. most folks don't let the young bucks walk.

  • Man yall hunt in some serious terrain. Congrats on the kill bro! I have yet to draw blood on anything yet this year

  • @newill80 lol, yeah man it's a little thick and wet here. it's dried up again since this vid and i've been sitting with the bow. thanks for the comment!

  • Meat in the freezer!!! Congrats on the doe Craig!!!

  • @hogdude1234 thanks shane! already had some roast and grilled backstraps, good stuff!

  • Congrats Craig she sure is gonna be some good eatin How many tags do ya get? Here in Missouri we only get 9 days of rifle season in Nov thumbs up -Jason

  • @2024JayZ thanks jason! we can buy up to 4 doe tags and we have either sex days on most saturdays in october and november. i feel sorry for people in other states that have such short firearms seasons, seems like they make it hard for y'all to harvest an animal.

  • @fracwilt It sure does make it hard and then you have every moron in the woods with a rifle that only go in the woods at that time of year My parents neighbor is the Mark Twain National forest So it can be scary I wear a bullet proof vest under my camo lol

  • @2024JayZ lol, better safe than sorry!
