@Wendigo127 The project was canceled only because of the cost, I believe 2.5 billion spent to design and the prototype. It fitted the Army's needs in a scout helicopter, however only reason the project was scrapped was the cost value per helicopter. Basically the need for a stealth recon helicopter isn't really needed in the army's eyes.

the RAH-66 was built to work along side AH-64D Apache Longbows the Comanches would locate targets and relay them to the Apache and the Apache would come in and do its own thing. the Differences between the F-117 and F-22 Are immense the F-22 will have to take the best of what Russia and China can throw at us

there is no point in us spending billions of dollars and a stealth helicopter. they enemy we fight now dosen't have radar capabilities. no need for it. ah64 is still a great weapon and cheaper to keep the aviators, helicopters, and crews then to retrain, re arm, and renew with a comanche

My brother Is in the intelligence field of the US army, had to do an extensive report on this chopper. budgets were cut in fact due to UAV funding, however it is widely known that this heli kicks so much ass that it should have been mass produced. However there really isnt any ENEMY chopper near our apache so it was discarded easily.
