It doesn't matter how you cook it, it is still gloing to taste no better than various meat-like bits ground up beyond recognition and stuffed in a tube. Secondly, you can cook it however you regularly cook it - microwave, boiled, on a stick over a fire - whatever method you prefer.

Ah, I make these with little roasted hot dogs... The mini ones make them even cuter. Or I just cut the hot dog into 3 even slices and make into into octopi.

But if you cut it in half fully then cut it into a couple pairs then slit 3 little legs on each end then carve in a face in the middle, It's a crab!

We used to make 'spider' dogs when I was a kid at scout camp -- it's the same technique as the Octopus dog but you only cut 1/3 of the lenght of the dog, but you do it on both ends.

The work best if you're roasting them on a stick over a camp fire.
