The first series New Mini is more authentic what comes to the feel. Some materials are also higher quality on the previous one. The latest model is more like any high quality small car. It's heavier, engine is civilized and the whole car is beefier and is not as good and 'sporty' looking in my opinion. One of the points in driving a Mini is that you FEEL the car and the engine and the bumps in the road. The latest version is supposedly made to appeal on a larger group of consumers and NA market.

This guys totally wrong. R53's are much better. I had a 07 mcs loaner and it was too refined. Plus the engine sounded terrible compared to the first gen

The R56 is a little too refined over the R53 if you ask me. It feels too detached from the driving experience than the previous model.

he does good reviews but he's very biased(no criticism) - I'm guessing this is a dealership so that explains it. Also it's way too informative for Top Gear, that's why Clarkson is the soul of that show.

I've owned an 09 MCS for about 10k miles and two flaws I notice about the car is the speedometer and the placement of the AC vents on the driver's side. The speedo should be angled directly AT the driver instead of towards the center of the car. 78mph reads like it's 80mph. The vents are aimed directly at my hands and thus cooling takes a bit longer during really hot days. The vents should be placed higher so it can hit my face. Overall, the car is a classic and a keeper for a long, long time.

I've never really been a fan of Mini. I don't hate them I would just never own one. I gotta say, for such a small car that speedometer is absolutely massive. However, the video was very entertaining and I enjoyed it nonetheless.
