What memories! I was 17 and on top of the World. Now I'm 50 and thank goodness still above it, the ground that is. RIP Bill Bailey, another good guy gone. Bill left us this morning Sat., Jan, 14th, 2012, for big radio station in the sky. Around here, he won't be soon forgotten.
Wow, two of my favorites! The Duke of Louisville, always quick with a quip! And Reed, always the perfect straight man. We had a super team back then. Thanks for posting.
These 2 voices will NEVER be duplicated, never. Reed Yadon an Bill Bailey absolutely "Clicked". they knew how to play off each other without fail.Reed is still with us in 2011,and still has his "voice",thank God!!!! The jokes between him and Bill can never be duplicated,,due to the arrogance of the way Louisville has become. This free-flowing,mellow,at-ease of this time will never happen again in Louisville on terrestrial (AM-FM) radio. Enjoy it on here while you still can !!!!
I remember when this happened. And Bill Bailey lived 4 doors down on the oppisite side of the street from my aunt and uncle,,Tommy and Barbara Osting on Watch Hill Ct. off Fegenbush Lane.My mother listened to him EVERY morning,,to hear "The mouth of Louisville", and to this day,we have never forgot him.Bill is a Louisville Legend, everybody from here knows him,and this video is when he was at his prime.Check out the "Customary" generic chandelier above the table ! Typical 70's UGH !,,LOL.
He was my hero when I was a kid. My Dad listened to WAKY without end. It is awsome to here DJs when they were king. You won't find anything like it today.
Last heard Bailey was in a Louisville area nursing home. Reed is still doing weather, etc. on 32. This is bizarre. Just set up at the dining room table and played/reenacted radio.
Bailey was unbelievable at the live spot stuff...a truly incredible radio man.
