  • Nice

  • Would anyone recommend these cymbals as maybe intermediate cymbals? I have a 21" Zildjian Avedis Medium Ride, 14" Hi-Hats, and a Sabian B8 14" Thin Crash. Both the ride and hi-hats are about 15 years old (hand-me-downs from my cousin). I'm kind of on a low budget but would anybody suggest that it would be better or worse that i traded in my Zildjian Avedis cymbals and Sabian B8 cymbal for the Meinl MCS series? I know the Zildjian A series ar higher quality but MCS sounds great even for beginner!

  • @BlobsofClay keep the avedis, get rid of the sabian.

  • @asdfcrow Yeah I know the Sabian is really cheap, but do you know the best low-budget high quality cymbals? Meinl sounds pretty good

  • @BlobsofClay in my experience, meinl has the best beginner cymbals, paiste has the best mid range cymbals, and zildjian has the best high end cymbals. i have some paiste alpha brilliants, and they're great, about $500 for a pack.

  • Well it depends every cymbal companies have great high end cymbals, it depends of the sound that you want.

  • @BlobsofClay Keep your Zildjian A!! Because if you trade it for something cheaper..well it's not common, I believe that you should get rid of your B8 and buy something that is in the same rage as your Avedis cymbals like AA or AAX in Sabian or just buy a new Zildjian A series crash.

  • @BlobsofClay I forgot...try the Meinl MB8 Series, it's not very expensive but it sounds really good. You will get a 16'' crash for 190$ approx. TRY THIS OUT!!

  • Are expensive?? please respond

  • @jostincr17 You can all the cymbals shown, except for the the crash above the ride for $250.

These are probably the best sounding cymbals in their price range, although if you're looking for the cheapest cymbals possible, The HCS pack is also good

  • the master of fills ^^

  • pornstar music lol

  • @MrTreeboy92 XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • @MrTreeboy92 I want to know what porn you watch o.o

  • I've owned an 18" and 16" crash of these Meinl MCS cymbals for over year. and not gonna lie, They sound quite a bit different than they do in this video. they don't sound this good at all in person... i might add that they aren't too durable. MUCH more durable than the Zyldjian ZBT cymbals though. But, for the price I'm not gonna complain about them too much.

  • best sounding are paiste 2002 models had 14 medium hats , 15 17 medium crashes and 20 medium ride exellent for rock and metal.................

  • not bad sound for cheap cymbals , which sound better the mcs hi hats or pst 5 , trufully

  • @RJhughes123 i'd say the Paiste Pst5's

  • @RJhughes123 Definitely the PST 5 because they are mid-level cymbals and MCS are beginner.

  • can i please get a video of the new 18 inch crashes?

  • Very excited to get these cymbals!

  • RMV drumheads

    peles rmv!!!

    BRAZIL!!

  • @PisolMan Drum Mics. I have these too and miced they will sound heavenly but just playing them at home or whatever, they're mediocre.

  • is the crash at 1:10 16" or 18" ?

  • @Rockzone199 It looks more like a 18 or 19"

  • @Nitram916 ok thank's i'm going to buy a new crash i'm unsure if i should get a 16" or a 18" but i think a 18" will be better. 14 hihat 20 ride and now 18 crash. what do you think?

    cheers

  • @Rockzone199 I would go with 18" they are more durable than 16"

  • @Nitram916

    yes you're right cheers man

  • @Rockzone199 sorry but saw your comment. I wouldget the 16 in. crash, because it gives a very different sound, but it still fits really well

  • @grayman802

thanks man but i bought the 18" crashride and i'm very happy with it. maybe in a few month i'm going to buy the 16" as well. cheers ;)

  • @Rockzone199 16 i have the 16 its great i have a saloosh 18 im about to get a meinl so i have a full meinl set wuhan chinas

  • does anyone know if the Meinl HCS 12" China is worth buying?

  • For some odd reason, the HCS sounds better to me...

  • meinl > sabian.

  • he's such a beast!

  • do they sound like this in person or its just the vid?

  • @199dirttracer I have the HCS hats and I can say that they sound fucking amazing

  • @Nitram916 hell yeah man love them shits

  • @199dirttracer MCS* ;)

  • I just got a 16" crash, 14" hi hats, 20" ride, and 14" Thomas Lang signature filter china and WOW! These cymbals are just amazing! I thought o they probably won't sound this good in real life the mica probjy give them a whole other sound. But oooooo was I wrong, if anything they sound better in person! I got the entire pack for $269.31 and they definitely match the big boys of cymbals Sabian and Zildjian, which would probably cost more than double that amount. Just amazing!!

  • I CAN'T WAIT FOR MINE TO COME!!!

  • A lot a cymbal companies often shun showing the public what the lower range of their cymbals sound like. Kudo's to Meinl.

  • i like the piiiiiiiiiing sound...

  • i just bought these cymbals waiting for them in the mail. this only makes me more excited... GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

  • of COURSE there aren't any dislikes!!!

  • MCS the best beginner cymbals! :)

  • @joshuachan56 no HCS is beginner, mcs borders a bit more to intermidiate and beginner.

  • @joshuachan56 how bout sabian xs20? B8? meinl classics?

  • @clancedrumscovers Xs20 & Classics are mid-level bro... MCS is better than B8.

  • @joshuachan56 no, thats just an opinion, I prefer b8[pro] over the mcs

  • @clancedrumscovers Because B8-PRO are mid-level... -.-

  • @clancedrumscovers And they ofcourse sound better than MCS too.

  • @joshuachan56 naw pastie pst has better crashes but meinl has better hi hat and ride to me

  • @joshuachan56 No HCS rules... :D but i think they sound the same

  • Are mcs considered better than hcs?

  • @MalikThomasDrumz MCS are the next level up from HCS. So yes they are better!

  • Would anyone recommend these?

  • @ForgetTheForgiven I have these, they are okay. They are about the same level as B8 Pros or ZBTs, and if you look around they can be a little cheaper. Don't take this video as an example of their sound, they don't really sound like this. The hats are probably my favorite, they sound pretty nice, but the crash and ride only sound okay.

  • this proves you can go into a studio with entry level cymbals and still have it sound amazing

  • What kid/heads are these??... sounds great

  • @cptwinky69 hcs suck man, never used the mcs... but theyer a more high end cymbal

  • 1:04 \m/

  • that pattern he plays when he first switches to the ride sounds sweet

  • whats the song that hes playing 2? its a dope track!!!

  • @ROBxATH

The MCS are made of B8-Bronce. The HCS are of brass. The manufacturing process however is the same.

  • Hmm do they make like another style of these because ive looked these up and seen pictures of them but mine have like different logo looks but I can't figure out why.

  • I have a crash of this and a ride of this and a hihat from mb20 along with with crash from mb20, and mcs are ok but got incredibly annoying sound after a while, especially hats ( in my opion)

  • what snare is he using?

  • what kind of microphons do you take?

  • @benediktstaat

    overhead: schoeps mk4

    ride: earthworks sr25

    hihat: akg c414eb

bassdrum: akg opus 99 and cu900

    snaredrum top: akg m201

    snaredrum bottom: akg opus 88

    racktoms: opus 88

    floortoms: opus 87

  • @JanniFav thanks for your awnser

  • iv played these before and i reckon theyre great for the money

  • the music, take away the drums it'd sound like something from a bloody porn film!

  • @acdcjonnyboy hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha i just laughed my ass off bro.

  • Amazing cymbals

  • aite these cymbals sound good to me its some great cymbals

  • Comment removed

  • i have these riht but im looking into some mb20s. they are pretty decent cymbals at an awesome price great for beginners or students. but the ride for me just does not cu it.... it has a nice oing but but too much overtones and a weak bell. still, great cymbals for a low price.

  • Same...boring...bass beat...

  • wow.. talk about some cheap sounding cymbals lol. ill stick with my byzance sand ride and extra dry's thank you very much

  • I own this whole set...I do have issues with dark undertones but I play a lot live and they aren't too noticable

  • which series is better, the MCS or the HCS would u say

  • @captkirksite MCS, they are made from B8 bronze while the HCS series are made from brass.

  • @captkirksite MCs is the better option for that price.

  • which series is better, the MCS or the HCS would u say

  • I have this set up, and while nothing ground braking, they don't sound bad when mic'd up. Moving up to MB8's, but will keep these for practice.

  • what size is the cymbal he starts thrashing on at 1:06?

  • @isawasqurielonce that seems to be a 16" crash

  • @isawasqurielonce its a 18" crashride

  • The Ride sounds great!

  • i am gettin this for £188 the cymbal set is it worth it plz help

  • I have these mcs cymbals and they sound pretty good for there price.... i was surprised...

  • Comment removed

  • amazing cymbals .... amazing mics .... amazing ...

  • the best part of this vid by far is the zebra rug!

  • i wish they had more than just the 16" crash, like a 14 and or 18 like the hcs has

  • Perfect pocket

  • I guess the nasty overtones, these cymbals are producing, are somehow filtered, in any cas, in reality those cymbal suck, like every beginner series...

  • @Gnarm0 I own them and I have no overtones, mine sound like these.

  • @FOXGEAR92 YO since you have this set what two crashes are those I need the one more crash...

  • @zRepLaY It's the 16 inch crash and the 18 inch crash/ride that are featured in the video.

  • Amazing! Even Meinl's starter lines sound fantastic!

  • ... made for motion city soundtrack [:

  • I have these cymbals and I love them. Excellent sound for the price, you can't go wrong.

  • these cymbals sound better playing this type of music. as opposed to me using them for metal.

  • These don't sound that bad on my kit but they might not last as long as other series'.

  • Personally, I think these cymbals sound excellent, especially for the price. I actually prefer these to the other B8 Bronze cymbals on the market, such as Zildjian ZBT and ZXT, and Sabian B8 cymbals.

  • it sounds better on here then on my kit

  • @PisolMan because the cymbals are miced

  • @PisolMan I agree, these videos sound better than the cymbals regularly and dont get me wrong meinl sounds GREAT in person! I have a mix of mb20, byzance, souncaster custom, mb8, and previously owned mcs and classics and these videos make all the series sound better than they are!

  • @PisolMan its cos the one mic over his hi hat is worth 4 times more than the actual cymbals

  • @jamy313 It's more than that. That mic is literally $1k. No shit. I looked it up.

  • @PisolMan prolly cause his kit is all miced up

  • @PisolMan mics/eq make kits sound better

  • ride sucks, the left crash sucks " BIG time" but the hi hat is awesome and the right crash has bright tone..

  • @aassyr1111 haha they suck cause they are like entry-level cymbals. and cheap. i have the meinl hcs and im tired of them i want some better cymbals.

  • @rjthegolfer93 How do you know they suck?! Have you heard them live? You obviously have no knowledge of cymbals, since you own Meinl HCS.

  • @djfireball999 i got them over a year ago, they came with my drum kit, you dont have to be such a jackass dude, all i was saying is they are low quality. i think that is something we all can agree with?

  • @rjthegolfer93 YES i think these cymbals would suck for a jazz setting lol

  • @rjthegolfer93 BUT, you're saying that MCS cymbals suck, even though you own HCS cymbals. They actually suck, mainly because they're made out of brass. MCS cymbals don't suck, I had a rather good play on them last week. For B8 sheet bronze cymbals, it's hard to beat them in all fairness. So, in essence, you're chatting shit and making random assumptions without having any experience with these cymbals.

  • @djfireball999 fair enough, im going by the sound, but i wasnt even the first one to say these suck i was just adding on to the other guy's comment. and plus the hi hats do have a nice sound to them ill give them that.

  • @rjthegolfer93 That's fine. There's now a video about the HCS series, you can go and bitch about that, at least you have personal experience with them!

  • @rjthegolfer93

Lol, Hcs are made of brass. Mcs are made of B8 Bronze

so you can't say that MCS suck cause your HCS suck much more !

  • @lordvanthom yeah i know my hcs suck. lol i believe thats what i was saying in my comment when i said im tired of the hcs.

  • @rjthegolfer93 depends on your budget and the music you need them for...for example you cant have extra dry cymbals for metal and punk :P try zildjian zbt, not that expensive and covers wide range of music genres :)

  • @aassyr1111 the left crash is realy a crash ride.

  • I love these, they are/were my first cymbals. so annoyed that the crash cracked, it lasted well through

  • awsome

i have these there pretty good

only the ride has a weird overtone

and my hihats are upside down up is bottem and down is top

    weird...

  • Obviously not top-of-the-range cymbals, but a great example of how so much of the sound comes from the drummer, not the equipment.

  • @EskilNaige yeah, and a 2000 dollar drum set

  • @EskilNaige

And the sound-engineer mixing techniques! ;-)

  • @EskilNaige and from the after-mixing ...

  • @EskilNaige More of the sound comes from EQ, Compression, Mixing... in these videos the sounds is obviously enhanced, so you can't judge if you interested in buying, luckily I met someone how had them before I ordered... they sound like this if hey are recorded right and like I said, EQd and compression! it just proves that to record a little knowledge and creativity can do a lot more than expensive equipment :)

  • Ralf can play budget cymblas and make them sound unique. Watch other vids where he plays the M-Series and Byzance. He slays and Meinl rules.

  • YES
