Tonex truly represents the modern Christian, i.e.: ecclectic, tuned-in, and technologically-wired. In fact, if Christianity is to survive, it had better change because it is getting tremendous competition from the Eastern religions, atheism and agnosticism. I see more and more Black folk turning to the Eastern faiths and to atheism because they feel like they just don't fit into the Black "mainstream" church. Tonex, I think, represents those kinds of Christians. He's helping to make it relevant.

As christians we shd not be all that disturbed by what he is stating & , in fact, shd, be able to agree on a major point with him. Firstly recognize that because a prolific or famous person claims to believe and/or follow Christian teachings does NOT mean that they are actually a disciple. Be sure to see 1st Tim4 & Jude chapter1. Where we can agree with Mr.Tonex, is that one can be 'born' homosexual just as one is "born" like all sinners as a fornicators, adulterer, liar, etc., But Jesus SAVES

Tonex is simply the embodiment of the new Christian. If Christianity is to survive, it has to change like every other religion. You can't expect this deeply technologically-wired and very busy generation to come to you (the church), it really has to reach out to them. Also, young people are NOT going to be apart of anything where they feel that they're not beeing heard or represented or where the congregation don't LOOK like them.
