This song mimics the experience of LSD perfectly. The intensity comes in waves with short bursts of clarity after each wave. This is easily one of my favorite favorite psychedelic songs of all time.

@plastiqueadapte This is the original, written by band members Zoot Money and Andy Summers (The Police). Recording it later with Eric Burdon and the Animals.
Saw Zoot at Mick Jagger Centre playing with Alan Price set last night, hadn't seen him since the klooks Kleek days. Apparently Zoot is doing a lot of gigs with Alan, check the gig guide .....
This disc is now regarded as a high point in British psychedelia. The Chariot used to appear on stage dressed in white with white instruments and a psychedelic light show projected around them. Zoot Money and Andy Summers joined Eric Burdon's LA based New Animals when this outfit folded. This line up recorded an LP entitled "Love Is", which was released as a double LP in the States. It included a reworking (and quite a faithful one) of the Chariot's Madman Running Through The Fields.
In his book Andy Summers mentions the "ringing eleventh chord" (at 00:56 in the video) which he uses years later in the intro to "Walking on the moon"...
very cool stuff; zoot mooney and colin allen recently back together again with maggie bell in british blues quintet....saw them, all sound and look great...
Don't forget the version sung by eric burdon on the album love is

Thanks for posting this. Great psychedelia, and it's great to hear Andy Summers' pre-Police things.
