I like it, the same stuff I learned in my history class. I don't think it's mentioned but the Panama Canal was wished on by Woodrow Wilson and I don't know if he began to follow his hopes in it before he had died or not, but the disease was maleria caused by mosquitos. :)

Great video! Now that I think of it the canal would have made a good source of income to help us out of our financial slump but Carter just gave it back to the Panamanians in 1999 after all the trouble to acquire it, fight for it, plan it, develop it, build it, die for it, etc. Wrong move. But then it just occurred to me that he would just rather work for peanuts.

@madtoytle thing is...if the us didnt give back the canal, the loos would have been greater, cause in that moment the relations between us and panama were brocken because of a series of events, so the us knew that if they didnt reestablish the relations things would have goten very difficult. basically i believe the canal is panamas belonging, cause its in there soil, and the us only got it by helping panama get independent from colombia.

Basically a good vid. There was room for a lot more information, though. The music didn't seem an appropriate representation of the times and showing aircraft carriers for the U.S. involvement in the Panamanian conflict was kind of silly;

Believe it or not, there's a lot of history and social aspects that pertains to the construction of the Panama canal.This project was short, so it was it would of been difficult for you to include so many issues.Nice project!!!!!
