  • LOVE THIS !

  • Favorite Passions song. What a great group.

  • Doo Wop at its finest!

  • CLASSIC DOOWOP HERE!!! thanks for the memories and the fun,Tom D. Brick,NJ. {at the shore}.

  • Tumsabai: It still makes me swoon (no more energy for screaming); but I could feel the tears; there so much feeling in these love ballads, and this is one of the best!

  • @frosty7530 I caught and liked your comment here. I love and (and as a teenager used to) swoon over the pathos, the longing, in these songs. 'I almost lost my mind' listening to The Channels sing 'The Closer You Are." I'm at that age too where there is no more energy for screaming. I saw that you like the early Ann Rice. Are you referring to the Sleeping Beauty books?

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice to hear the real deal groups.

  • @MRDOOWOPKING The real deal is right on the money!!

  • Great!!

  • subscribe to RETARDS WITH RAYGUNS horror doo wop

  • One of the many popular New York/New Jersey groups of the late 50's and early 60's.

They had three successive hits from 1959 and 1960 beginning with "Just to be with You, I only want you, and Gloria." All made Billboards Top 100 and "Just to be with you became a Top 10 National Hit.

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhh My Favorite song ever ..I Only Want You ..Love it

  • The Passions were the best--harmony,lyrics and great connection with teens.

  • Awesome video thank you so much for uploading this!

  • This music was mostly about guys romanizing girls.

And the girls loved it. The guys dressed nice in their

suits and sang romantic, harmonized songs to the girls.

That was 1956 to 1963, the doo-wop era. Of course their was

    danceable rock and roll too!!

  • My favoite group and song of all time! It took me until 2004 to find one of their CD's and I had been looking since the 1960's. I found out from their discography that they used to perform in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn when I lived there. Maybe I passed them singing on the corner!

  • this group is good, they have a lot of great songs, memories come back..........

  • "every waking hour, every minute of the day..."

I have always loved The Passions.....Thanks, Jan

  • I'm going to check their website out, if they have one. These are some handsome, beautiful guys. I wonder if they know the impact their music they had & have on all of us fans. Can you imagine meeting them face to face. Swooning time.

  • I ONLY WANT YOU......how can it get better than this?

Even in my dreams, you are there, it seems...

  • is doo wop dead? i like the passions there the best even tho iam 20 years old i like the old school stuff

  • @spidy05 hell no, doowop is not dead , never will be !!! rock n roll is here to stay

  • doo woop is the best ever beats any music of today Jimmy did the vision of this song

  • @spidy05

  • Hey, was this taken from oldies 98 street corner sunday? At the end it sounded like Harvey Holiday (DJ for the station)? I live in Philly and listen every sunday night!

  • @antdooit I dont know, im from the pittsburgh area, and dont know if we get that station. My dad taped these in 1996.

  • @m1garand427

Oh ok, the station is WOGL Oldies 98. Great tunes. I love

    these DooWop sounds!

  • @antdooit Me, too! Sunday nights....the best night for Philly music!.......Jan

  • It doesnt get any better than this group--The Passions were one of the best of doowop.

  • Favorite Passion's song. Heard this song from an oldies album back in the 70's. Great group.

  • YOU TUBE HAS REVIVED SO MANY MEMORIES .......YEAH !!!!

    ONYA M1garand427

  • Amazing, you guys are great.

  • I have it on a 45!

  • LONG LIVE DOO WOP

  • I'm too young to remember this as a current song (I was about 7 or 8 at that time). I know this an oldie "standard," but how popular was it at the time? Was it a hit? Or perhaps a local hit?

  • @RaananVolesPianist It was more of a local hit.

  • Superb example of the perfect doowop song!

  • Wonderful Doo Wop :))

  • January 1963...

  • This is wonderful. Love that lead's voice.

He is such a turn on.

    Many thanks.

  • Hey Legends of DooWop if you are in Vegas and need a backup second tenor or lead Hit me up bet I'll surprise you all.

  • Happy is listening to the Passions-love the old recording sound.

  • I did not grow up in the DooWop Era (1954-1963), but by far my favorite. Love the Passions.

  • Another Doo-Wop gem from the great Passions. This is harmony at it's best. Jimmy's voice is so smooth and has great range. Long Live Doo-Wop.

  • The guy iin the lower part of the first picture and second person in the second

picture still performs. His group is

    called the Legends of Doo-wop.

  • That's Jimmy Gallagher...... One of the best leads out there.

  • This stuff made the girls cream!!!

  • Hey M1- don't worry about idiots like BigJohnnySmith- it seems to me he's got some issues, especially since he comes across knowing so much about the subject of homosexuality. Love the songs, keep up the good work and thanks for the memories.

  • Jimmy Gallagher and Company are touring again !!!!!

  • FANTASTIC.,,,,,,,,!!! Jimmy Gallagher loved you then and love you now!!!....Thanks for sharing m1garand.....

  • Great group! DooWop at its best!

  • Deressing, definately not! The reson why i listen to it is because it gives me that warm feeling inside that real music is supposed to give you and is really soothing. Secondly, we cant all give in to rap (which is really bull S**t), just because its what the mass media listens too. Create your own story and enjoy what you like and be proud of it. Doo wop delivers the best sound imaginable in music for me, oh sure I like 80s rock too but nothing beats the wonderfully UPLIFTING sounds of doo wop.

  • Great stuff, now that's music.

  • The other great group from Brooklyn Hey if the Passions and the Mystics battled who would win?? Who would be Brooklyn's ultimate Doo Wop group??

  • @Wehategod The Passions, no contest. Put the Passions against the 4 Evers. That would be unbelievable.

  • I remember them at that time....the best group.

  • These guys were so good!!

  • Great song. I haven't heard it in many years.

    Thanks

  • woow passions is one of my toptenn-doowop groups
