I perfer them to the Charlatans and the Happy Mondays combined. They are ridiculously underrated and not taken seriously enough as one of the all time greats of the Madchester era. Anyway I made an observation. Anyone else have their best of cd. It's really outstanding but the biggest problem I see is (at least here in the US) the names of the songs are all out of place. Every song is incorrectly titled. Maybe it's just the copy I bought but does anyone else notice that problem?

@IAWS I think the 3 other bands you mentioned were deemed to be cooler than the Inspirals.

Even though they were Cool As F**k, the Inspirals were also 5 thoroughly nice, decent, polite blokes, who ALWAYS found time for their fans. 2 examples; Tom hand wrote me a letter soon after the Inspirals split, and Clint looked after me and my girlfriend when she fainted at an aftershow party.

They never let fame go to their heads.

And they sure could write a decent tune!

As an Oldhamer, i can safely tell you that it is a major insult to be called a Manc. We have nothing against Mancs but we are just not one of them. Apart from being a totally different town, us oldham folk are staunch Lancastrians and our allegiance is to our county of Lancashire whilst Manc people seem to believe they are now part of a defunct made up county of Greater Manchester. You can see the carpets at certain places in Oldham like The Castle pub on Union street in Oldham.
