  • Danny Gatton Rules!!!!!!

  • You know, Danny had a nice deep resonant voice...maybe if he sang he could have been a bigger star. It's just a shame he didn't make it bigger than he did. The guy was an immense talent...kind of unbelievable.

  • "The World's Greatest Unknown Guitarist" was originally attributed to Roy Buchanan, the other undisputed Telecaster master.

  • I loved Danny. I am from Northern Virginia, so I got to see him a few times. Nice a second round. He is missed.

  • Sweet.

  • I just wished that he had the desire to stick around & see what might happen next ~ Damn We miss Danny!

  • These videos are entertaining myriad of ways. I love it!!!

  • Is that bass player a horse jockey?

  • He was truly AWESOME.

Could play any style, any genre - absolutely the most versatile player I've ever heard, I put him up there with Steve Morse - RIP DG, thank god your music lives on...

  • If there's anony out there who can compare, it's Johnny Hiland. Check him out.

  • not even close...

  • Respectfully disagree...

  • check out my Gattons Greatest solos cd, then you'll agree...

  • I respect your's and everyones opinion. Please do me a favor though. Before comparing anyone to Gatton you have to watch 88 Club Soda, 88 Gallaghers, 88 Birchmere, 88 US Blues NY, and all these youtube clips; then...................

  • Come on guys. Johnny is pretty dang good. You have to admit that.

    DG was awesome too.

    Nice guy also.

Thats what I remember about him and he always would set in with us. He never acted "To Good".

  • better and more versatile than Steve Morse, Eric Johnson, and Steve Howe. The only guy all around was Lenny Breau but Danny was more spectacular....

  • Gatton and Breau; the 2 most versatile players in history...

  • @gattonmaster check out scotty more he is the man and one of the few to survive

  • All around Steve Morse and Eric Johnson take a back seat to Danny Gatton and Lenny Breau. I used to think Morse and Johnson until I found out about and studied Danny and Lenny; the rest is history...

  • well they are VERY different stylists - Breau really is in a class by himself, for his musical approach and his technique, nobody will play like him again, a brilliant freak of a guitarist, RIP - ditto DG, just so personal, you can pick him out of crowd after a while - Morse is fantastic, however, as both a musician and a composer, where I believe he sets himself apart from the pack - eric johnson, eh, he's great, but aside from Ah Via Musicom, what's he really done? a step below in my opinion..

  • juvserr email your address and I'll send you 1 cd and 2 dvds that have to be seen and heard to be believed!! Ask Nilewest, JMSBK, Jazzbilly54, chet52, Nipperrooney, rulane. Money is tight but give me a little time.

    don/gattonmaster

  • His nickname "The Humbler" is rightfully deserved. DAMN!! The man could play.

  • Gatton was an astonishing player. Sad he felt the need to go on. On this session, the lead vocalist is not worthy to be on the same stage though. His energy & talents just don't rise to the occasion. Danny & the sax guy are great players.

  • I like how the first note Danny played in his solo blew everything away that the sax guy played.

  • I really like that drone lick and the way he resolves it into the 4 chord!

  • Just say,"brilliant".It saves words :)

  • GOOD JOB GATTON FANS, KEEP ALL THE BEST GATTON CLIPS COMING ONTO YOUTUBE; EVEN THE FANS AND MUSICIANS THAT ARE SELFISH WITH THEIR COLLECTIONS-YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE TOO!!! AND MASS DISTRIBUTION OF BEST OF TAPES AUDIO AND VIDEO OF DANNY WOULD BE GREAT TOO. TELL OTHER GUITARISTS YOUTUBE SITES TO CHECK OUT DANNY TOO. mastercollector

  • A comment to myself and all Gatton fans. I respect Holly Gatton, and all the great collectors. To do things right maybe Holly can put together a documentary and some collectors can maybe help her with some clips but we ALL have to respect the Gatton family, and all great collectors, bandmates,& close friends. We have to keep things legal and do things right!!! mastercollector

  • thank you so much for uploading this
