Mary Costa seems like one of the few celeberties who could actually say "I'm immnseley talented!" And she is, but she never would. She's far too humble and kind. I love watching interviews with her because not only is her advice great. She just seems like a joy to be around. She makes it seem like you're the only person in the room and you're just having a conversation. I think she's so lovely. Plus her voice is magnificent! Not only as Aurora, but from the few arias I've heard. It's magical!

I heard La Costa in concert with the late great John Alexander in Jackson, Mississippi in the 70s. They were terrific and she was most gracious afterwards.
