Did you turn off the camera mike while recording this or are we getting a blended sound which would explain why it all sounds so good? If you did, then I'd want to buy this pickup. Piezo usually sounds atrocious.
Nope, what you hear is the mix of piezo and natural sound!! In a 70/30% mix, approx..
And that's the way to go I think, the only reason(for me) to use a pickup would be to have an easier way to get much volume on stage, keepin' a microphone in front of the guitar for the acoustic tone and mixing it with the pickup in the above mentioned %.. Less risk for feedback and great tone!!
But I never do this actually, I always play through a mic these days!! :-)
@CubeableGame You can get distorted sound from any guitar with a pickup of any kind (even out of a classic guitar through a mic) if you use a distortion pedal or crank the pre or post of your amp. Now, will it sound good? That's subjective, so just try it.
fuck i luv that guit, unbelieavable. thats the money right there, geez the bass notes are sweet, the middle is punchy and the highs are sweet as sugar pie.
Great sound I must get a pickup or mic for my resonator and plug it into my amp. I see the bridge on the 12 string was very close to the tailpiece. Never saw that before. There usually far away from it for intonation reasons I think. Great video as always keep the blues comin!
Nice sounding, can't tell it's plugged in. Authentic !

John, you're close to being a one-man blues guitar museum collection...excellent that you love to PLAY them all, not put them in glass cases.

@BottleneckJohn NICE slide playing. I'm hearing a lot of room/mic signal mixed in there.

With the piezo installed, can you get "modern", distorted sound (on an electric amp of course)? I'm thinking about getting a resonator guitar.
Good playing also!

I have no idea, never tried to distort a piezo..

I use the ROLAND AC-60, a really nice acoustic amp. Works as a small PA for my smaller gigs..

Sounds sweet and without feedback ! Just great for stage performing and far less than other expensive professional solution

Nice touch! I'd like to see what kind of piezos you are using. perhaps you can post a clip showing the pickups and their placement??
PaisleyPatchouli 2 years ago
Thanks!
The piezos are pretty normal piezo stuff, not something that you can buy on the market though..
YET..!!! ;)
All placed under the top, under the bridge apart from the one on the faux-bro which is placed ON the top under the coverplate!

your guitars sound real good with Piezo...

Yeah, it sounds quite OK!
Piezo is a great way to amplify if one can find the right spot to place the pickup!!!
