  • I think it's an OK version... but why can't I find 'That's Fair' on Youtube?

  • Wow! I got goosebumps!

  • Wtf! This is a terrible version of a great song. Sorry Eddie, you are a great singer but this version sounds lacklustre.

  • For those of you bothered by her hand gestures.....close your eyes!!!

  • it just looks like shes trying to disperse a fart. Its not in sync with the music and is just random.

  • What the hell's she doing with her hands? She is such a dick for doing this.

  • @K3KCT Some of the most amazing singers in the world do it too. Joplin did it, Joe Cocker does it, Ian Curtis did it. If that's the case, it works for me.

  • @Rushynet Mate, those people you mentioned did it from the very beginning of their careers, Eddi introduced it later and became such a dick. 'Perfect' was great - no hands or pseudo arty gestures. I bet she alienated a whole section of her audience with this shit?

Someone really ought to advise her - where the hell are her so-called friends?

    She's a dick.

  • Eddi takes her music to the people that love her and she loves them straight back. She sings from her heart and if she wants to wave her arms like she does,I would suggest it's the least of your problems.

  • @davy4457

she has a wonderful voice but she expresses herself in a cringeworthy artificial way, as though acting natural, just acting.

  • its a good song and i like her voice, but i bet i can tell you why shes not selling platinum albums and making music videos .... that stupid thing she does with her right arm - its weird

  • 2 people don't like this? 2 really insane people that ran out of lithium methinks!

  • sucks!

  • excellent

  • beautiful eddie

  • I love this song, it's so powerful, I have only just discovered Eddi Reader and can't wait to see her live in Cornwall next September.

  • This is a really deep song. Love it.

  • Great Lyrics.

  • beautiful and the songs not bad

  • this is sublime, Eddie is more than inspirational... good on ted for consistently having wonderful things to offer everyone.

  • This song makes the hairs on my head stand on end,one of the most beautiful voices i have ever head.

  • I'm a big fan of Thomas Dolby.

    Genious.

First saw Eddie Reader many years before she was signed, singing at a Jazz Gig in Kilmarnock some...27? years ago?

Nice singing Eddie and so you know, the Scirrocco souls are all still knocking about.

    Larry, Spike, Clark etc.

Even The Longhorns are back together looking for gigs. ;)

  • I listen to her every morning... this singer and this song especially make me feel more active and think different, I guess.

  • Words by Si Kahn, Copyright Joe Hill Music.

  • Did Si Kahn ever record / release this?

I'd be keen to hear it, if he did.

    A superb song.

  • Oh dear..this song has made me think about what I should be doing..but I'm not. Many years ago I shared a squat in London with Eddi for a few weeks and TD asked me to support a few times whilst I was a singer called ME and before I started wearing blue and brown and started working for the clampdown. Eddi had the voice of an angel then ans still has. If you don't know she is the voice singing the REALLY GOOD bits on early Eurythmics songs such as sweet dreams

  • that there annie lennox can sing a bit too tho, eh? :~)

agreed eddi has an angel's voice tho (I love the album version of this song - it's just sublime)

I'm off to check the other youtube version of this now. Good luck with doing more with what you've got - touch the sun.

  • what album is this from?

Oh- and do you reccomend any of her other albums?

  • Hi Freaky :~)

The song is on 'Mirmama' - her first solo album, & a real cracker.

I don't know everything she's done, but 'Bell, Book and Candle' from Angels & Electricity is great watch?v=7lXAfqY0CEo & the whole 'Eddi Reader' album is very good.

& going back a bit, the Fairground Attraction album, "First of a Million Kisses" was very good too.

    Enjoy!

  • Mirmama - not only a real cracker but Eddi's best ever album and my absolute favourite album in the whole world!

  • Certainly one of my favourites, it just sounds like she put her all into it.

Her new one, while IMO not perfect, is very good & has some really sweet moments on it.

The sad but beautiful story of how she came to write & record it is on her myspace.

I saw Fairground Attraction play 20 years ago & they were just sublime, then I went to see Eddi, drummer Roy Dodds, Boo Hewerdine & band last November & they were amazing too.

They're on tour now - go see! (details on myspace & Eddi's web)

  • Beautiful

  • i cried, thanks

  • what a lovely voice!
