This was my favorite studio album with Leon Russell by far. I used to play the heck out of on my 8 track and album. Great music through and through. His mamma was not disappointed in what he did with his piano music money and lessons, now was she?

I know. But even though it was cut at 5:15, I have a feeling that there was another verse that just did not make it to vinyl. I am working on a screenplay, and Intro to Rita and Straight Brother work well for the opening scenes except for the lack of one more verse. Can you assist in getting LR to answer the question or writing the additional verse? PS Great song still today.

@yukehelp - I have the LP and the song length is identical (5:15) for both songs and these that I downloaded. Interesting question! This is the way I always remembered it to be. So I went to the turntable and listened. It's the same, fade out.

Rita Coolidge was with Leon before Kris Kristofferson married her.

My ex-wife and her was best friends... the shit she used to tell me would scare you to death.

(She called Leon "The Dwarf"... and was still pissed at him many years later!)

That's okay. Me and Leon are both "Unforgiven" in at least one person's evaluation.

I hope that God has a different judgement.
