I like all of the live show recordings a lot more than the studio ones, you can really feel the energy and emotion the band expounded rather than the "perfect" sound from the albums that doesn't have the same feeling.
The photo with the baby. She didn t knew his father, he died when she has just one litlle year. Poor daughter, poor Ian. Poor man. He stirs our emotions, no doubt, beacuse he didn t lack of tenderness in his madness, a ray of sun. Love Ian
The riff is melancholy & sorrowful, making me feel sympathetic emotions with the guitar alone. The lyrics articulate this emotion, then the guitar goes into a full-on cry as it nears the end.
i was poking fun....who doesnt know who ian is when they listen to a JD song, but ya both versions are great..i like the live better cuz im more into hard punk
mc!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! So intense! Steven and Ian especially!
What's that second verse? It definitely isn't "someone told me being in the know is the main thing..."

When Barney was a guitarist not a vocalist, he was superb.

My favorite Joy Division track
